what band have you seen most often?

curious: what artist/band have you seen live the most number of times?

i have a ton of bands in the 5-7 show range, but only one in the double-digits: radiohead.  and you?  i wonder how many people here will answer "the grateful dead"… :D

(actually, there is one band i've seen more than RH - my buddy's funk-rock bar band, back in the early 90's.  they had a weekly residency at a local bar that i attended on and off for several month.  between those shows and their other local appearances - included one where i played guitar with them - must have seen them over 20 times…).
Tori Amos: I've seen an ungodly amount of times. One person shouldn't hear that many versions of "Crucify".

Double-digits:

Radiohead
Queens of the Stone Age
PJ Harvey
The New Pornographers
Sleater-Kinney
Bjork
Nine Inch Nails
CSS
LCD Soundsystem / Arcade Fire
The Juan Maclean

There's a shitload I can't think of. I'll update when I get a hold of my stubs.
Sleater-Kinney is on top for me…19 times.
Wilco …13
Never seen any band in the double digits.  Sonic Youth 5 times is the most for me.
Not many, and weird:

She Wants Revenge 4 times? [only enjoyed the first]
Be Your Own PET 3 times [Jemina = <3s]
Queens of The Stone Age 3 times [fave band evar]
MSTRKRFT 4 times
Wolfmother 3 times
The Raconteurs 3 times
The Black Lips 3 times

And a bunch of others twice. Justice, Eagles of Death Metal, Muse, TV on The Radio, Regina Spektor… a shitload of others.
The most would have to be 'The legendary pink dots'
They have been the most active touring band since I have been going to concerts.
9 times.
They used to tour about every other year in the states.
Although I haven't seen her in years (and even missed her set so I could go drinking during Bumbershoot), it may still be Lucinda Williams. Ditto for Steve Earle.

Of bands that I still see, there's Old 97's. Drive By Truckers are getting up there.

Oh yeah, Wilco should be here too.

No idea of the counts for each of these. Perhaps all in the 7-10 range.

If your top band is 3-4 times, you're too much of a newbie or casual concertgoer to be posting on this thread.  ;)
The Bouncing Souls - about 35 times.  Oddly enough, only about 3-4 in the last 8 years since Shal left the band.  Talk about a relentless touring schedule back in the day.

As for big (ger) bands that would actually count - Smashing Pumpkins 8 times (only enjoyed the first one (siamese dream) and Asheville, though)
Jeez…good question. Some bands I've seen more than I can count.

Double digits definitely include:

Bob Mould/Sugar
Social Distortion
Sonic Youth
Echo & the Bunnymen/Electrafixion
Goo Goo Dolls (yes, I hear a collective snicker…but guest list + backstage passes= lots of free fun)
The Pixies

Others that are not quite double digits, but I've seen at least 8 times:
Queens of the Stone Age
Oasis
Belle and Sebastian
Catherine Wheel (I may have seen them 10 times)
The Judybats

There are a bunch of others I've seen like 7 times (maybe more): Blur, Face to Face, Smashing Pumpkins, KMFDM, Frank Black, The Charlatans UK, Buzzcocks, Yo La Tengo, etc.

Most embarassing band I've seen? Probably Chumbawamba. Twice. One time a friend of mine got back into the country and I didn't realize what I was getting myself into because she wanted to go, the other time Lily and I got dragged by a friend of hers. Good gawd. Talk about painful.
Okay fine, I'll be the one to admit it. My Grateful Dead count ended at around 62. Unfortunately my #2 would probably end up being Little Feat because they opened for a lot of those shows.

I saw Canyon about 10 times, all of them awesome.

neil young and ted leo both around 8 times or so

Grateful Dead - exactly 100 times
R.E.M. - 33
The Slickee Boys - at least two dozen times.
Ratdog -  15 or so
Bob Dylan - 13
I'm sure the various re-groupings of The Dead/The Other Ones would be double-digits, too.

I think that's it for double-digits.  Next would probably be the Jerry Garcia Band (7), David Bowie (7) and The Ramones (6).
I will get laughed at for this I know, but I have seen Staind probably 40 times. This is primarily because I worked merch for them in 98-99 and travelled most of their east coast/midwest tour with them for a summer/fall.

As far as shows i've paid to see……

      Our Lady Peace -  i think 18
      Tragically Hip - 15
      Radiohead at 9
Dinosaur Jr. will be 9 in May

5-8 are Jesus and mary chain, sonic youth, metallica, beastie boys, secret machines, lemonheads, white stripes, flaming lips, helmet, cypress hill and chemical brothers.  but there may be a couple more in that range, too.
Add to my list:

Spoon (20-ish times)
Depeche Mode (maybe an even 10 times)
I'm not sure if I've seen any band in the double digits other than Thievery Corporation.
I'm pretty sure I've see Exit Clov close to 200 times, though I'm proud to say I think I only saw them once or twice last year.

For other locals, I've seen WSC, the Drunken Sufis, Jukebox the Ghost and The Beanstalk Library at least 5 times a piece. Maybe Q and not U as well…

I think I've seen Mates of State and Live 5 times, Ted Leo about as many.

My problem is, i am super passionate about bands that don't tour here often. I've seen Sigur Ros and Idlewild 3 times a piece, but would be a lot higher if they lived and toured more in the states. But then, their music would prolly suck…
Catherine Wheel 12 times, Evan Dando/Lemonheads 9 times.  Nobody else even close.
Wilco - 8 times
The Decemberists - 8 times (11 if you include Colin Meloy's solo shows)

Man, I really envy Bombay Chutney for seeing R.E.M. 33 times. I wish I could even come close to that, but I've only seen them 4 times. By the way, Bombay Chutney, when do you plan to change your handle to Mumbai Chutney? ;)

Ditto! There are still so many R.E.M. songs I want to hear live that I haven't heard yet (E-Bow the Letter), but I'm expecting to hear it at the tribute show next week.
Without a doubt:
