iPod and aiff

Many of you have discussed ripping your cd collection and selling the discs in order to save space. I'm considering this as well. However, since my iPod is my stereo, I'm considering ripping the cd's to aiff. Anyone have any positive or negative experiences with this?

Secondly, are there any torrent sites that work only with aiff?
The obvious drawback to aiff is that the files are big - every minute of music is about 10mb of data.  So you wont fit much music on your ipod.

Maybe apple lossless would be better.  I'm not aware of torrent sites specific to these codecs, and rarely do I see these file types out in the torrent world.
Thanks chaz. I saw Apple lossless but was concerned as there were already two lossless files (aiff and wav). Apple lossless looks like it somehow compresses? The details I've found are fuzzy.
Both apple lossless and flac compress files but are not lossy.  Flac is more popular and you'll find tons of flac torrents but it's not supported by itunes.

I've got lots of apple lossless and flac files…flac is the "preferred" lossless codec.  I've never done a direct comparison of the two but apple lossless sounds fine to me.
Since you are the resident audio expert, I trust your opinion.
Flac torrents are definitely very readily available but I haven't come across much AIFF either. Apple Lossless torrents are prevalent but nowhere near as much as flac.
Any quality links azaghal?

Fixed.

Edit: Inbox space freed up.
No dice on the email.
Weird.

I'll try again.

OK check now.
Got it. Thanks!
Top for lossless appreciation. Converted some albums over to apple lossless last night. Far better sound coming out of the iPod and sounddock now.
There are tools that enable you to go flac->apple lossless with the click of a mouse, too. So you could just download flacs (legally, of course), throw them in a prog like DB Poweramp, select "convert to apple lossless" and voila.
I dl'd some program last night but I forgot what it was called. I'm still surprised at the change in sound quality.
