Coachella 2010
Babasonicos!!!!!!!!! Very cool!
It's been confirmed that Thom Yorke will be performing with the project he was with in LA last fall, the one including Flea and Nigel Godrich.
and I like Infected Mushroom - they were awesome at V-fest a few years back. But I'll probably be missing them due to conflicts.
This lineup is just so damn stacked.

EDIT: I bow down to GGW. Never again will I post without reading the whole thread.

i wonder what the deal is with the question marks after thom yorke's name on the poster. i'm hoping he'll have the same band backing him as he did in LA recently (included flea), but maybe they're indicating something else?

damn, sorry i missed that… nkotb, i assume you made some zinger in my direction only to have me proven correct by ggw?
Nah, I just left basically the same joking comment: "I believe ??? is that new !!! side project."

Thom Yorke??? is how they refer to the unnamed collaboration between himself, Nigel Godrich, Joey Waronker, Mauro Refosco, and Flea. I believe they were billed this way when they played the few ?The Eraser? shows last year in CA. ;D
Eh. I'm not too fond of the lineup. I'll wait for another festival that has FNM with better headliners and a much better mid-card.

Plus, being a teacher, you're probably not going to get the time off to go, or be able to afford it for that matter.

Yes, this is that same collaboration.
Wow. Best Coachella lineup in a long time.
Except for the headliners.
I don't really see how Gorillaz are big enough to headline.

not my favorite lineup but still very strong. faith no more, PIL :o , devo, pavement, de la soul, sly and the family stone, gorillaz sunny day real estate, king khan and the shrines, surprised no one has mentioned the specials yet. god i hope that comes to the 930….paging seth…
Flight is booked, and I've made enough time to be in LA on the previous Thursday night for any "warm-up" showss that might happen! Fingers crossed for a Grace Jones / Fever Ray co-headline at the El Rey or something!

If Dammers is still not involved it really ain't the Specials.
Jonsi from Sigur Ros added.
Room is booked, gonna incorporate my Cali vacation into this one. Do about 10 days in state and finish up in Indio, should be nice. Lineup has some gems I want to see.
i was surprised that SSPU weren't on the bill, given that they are touring with Muse… but Coachella is immediately after the end of the tour, and SSPU played the festival last year.
another cool addition. he has a solo album coming out in march.

There's speculation of a big name (maybe Beastie Boys) being added to Friday.
Other than that though, this lineup is very stacked in the mid section.

in case y'all can't wait to secure your ticket, muse is having a presale for 3-day passes: https://tix.concertmaps.com/muse/
1 ticket = $304 with all fees (cue the inevitable "too fucking expensive" griping). ticketmaster will be $269 + fees (which are unknown), onsale is friday. who knows which one will be cheapest. i suspect that the presale will be a few bucks less, but don't hold me to that.
