Coachella 2010

That Muse presale won't be any significant less. If I recall correctly, the 3 day pass + fees and whatnot comes to about 300.

Good find though.

another name that caught my eye: Talvin Singh.  i've been wanting to see him for years.  frightened rabbit is cool too, i wonder if this means they'll be touring on the east coast too.

overall, i'm reconsidering my decision to not go… this is a very respectable lineup, IMO.

Just keep an eye out while you're visiting out here.  In the weeks preceding Coachella, a lot of these acts will play SF, LA or both to get warmed up.
You wont find very many of them playing in LA around the time of the fest due to a restriction clause in the contract signed - Coachella wants it so the only way you can see them is to come to the festival.

But you'll find almost all of them playing in SF before/after the fest.
I'm doing about 12 days total in Cal……big chunk the week before the fest in SF/Napa/Sonoma…..maybe I'll catch a few acts then…..

not my favorite lineup but still very strong.  faith no more, PIL  :o , devo, pavement, de la soul, sly and the family stone, gorillaz sunny day real estate, king khan and the shrines,  surprised no one has mentioned the specials yet.  god i hope that comes to the 930….paging seth…

If Dammers is still not involved it really ain't the Specials.

correct.  buuuuuut, 6 out 7 is the closest i'll end up getting to the real deal so it's good enough for me.  and the shows since they've reunited have been getting stellar reviews.

Yeah you're right…
I seriously just thought about some of the conflicts that'll happen during this. If there's a Jay-Z/Fever Ray/Grace Jones conflict, I just…I don't know what I'd do…
Sunday is a nightmare for potential conflicts.

All I'm hoping for is to see full sets from Orbital, Thom Yorke, and Gary Numan.

Seeing bits and pieces of Infected Mushroom, Jonsi, Plastikman, and Gorillaz would make me happy.

in case y'all can't wait to secure your ticket, muse is having a presale for 3-day passes: https://tix.concertmaps.com/muse/

1 ticket = $304 with all fees (cue the inevitable "too fucking expensive" griping).  ticketmaster will be $269 + fees (which are unknown), onsale is friday.  who knows which one will be cheapest.  i suspect that the presale will be a few bucks less, but don't hold me to that.

$309.25 @ TM ;D

if you do anything other than grace jones, i'm revoking your gay card.  and don't you go coping "i was high on morphine when i wrote that" as an excuse.

(seriously, you've seen jay-z more often and you'll see him again, and fever ray live can't be as good grace)
reconsidering again… i'm supposed to fly home from SF that thursday… so if i take friday and monday off, and re-route my return from LA, i'd only have to cover the SFO-LA flight… TEMPTATION.

u can haz werk?
Is anyone going for sure besides me?

Sweetcell we could give you a ride back to LA after the Sunday night show if you need it.  We're staying at a hotel at LAX that night.
Yeah I'm going. Flight booked and have my tickets and all set to go.

A few things that have happened since the lineup came out:

Grace Jones and Haduken have dropped from the lineup
Bad Lieutenant and Street Sweeper Social Club have been added

In addition to the fest, my buddy and I are catching the Pavement club show in Pomona the night before Coachella starts.  It is the first US tour date.  I'll post a review of that and of the Fest if our hotel in Palm Springs has internet access.
I'm heading out there as well.  We can't make Friday so we were going to sell them, but couldn't get face value, so we decided to just go.  Disappointed I'm missing some good acts Friday, but excited for the rest of the weekend.
How were you trying to sell it? They're only doing 3-day passes this year that aren't in the form of single tickets.
Set times are up…

…and I hate them. Last year, it was perfect. This year, its anything but.

Just curious, what seems so bad to you.  Apart from Pavement, Gary Numan, Orbital, and (camp out at Outdoor Theater for a good spot for Atoms for Peace) all at the same time, the conflicts seem pretty minimal to me.

Sunday is just too stacked to not have some horrible conflicts.
The Orbital v. Pavement is the big conflict for me.  Randomly, I saw them both on the same day at Glasto '99.  I choose Orbital.
