Its going to be Yoko Ono screaming into a microphone all day. There will be a line out front, as people get disgusted and leave (even with the free/reduced price beer) someone gets to enter and take their place. This will go on all day.
Club's 30th anniversary?
I think 930 should limit entrance to people over 30… filter out the hipster kids who don't have a long history with the club
Proof being your earliest ticket stub?

I dont' save my ticket stubs and I am not sure who I saw first at the club. I saw 3 bands in 1984: Hoodoo Gurus, The Church, and the Replacements. Or the Replacements could have been 1985 and I saw another band in 1984. It was the "Let it be" tour. Terrible show is all I remember. I think I saw Let's Active at the club in 1984 as well.
.
Yeah, I think my first show was a day before that one you mentioned.

I don't have stubs but I have a photo of me in there with "Dirty Looks"… that had to be pretty early

The Church in 1984 was my first show at the old club. I lost my ticket stub though. I think the oldest 9:30 ticket stub I have is for Black Flag in 1985.
:( What's a gal to do…I didn't move to DC until 1990. And I have NO idea what my first show was…I saw dozens and dozens, but have a terrible memory. And would never find those ticket stubs (though I can't believe I threw them out).
Tickets at the door the night of the show were generic.
Can't recall my first show either…..just remember I missed Husker Du by a week or so

Seth, I don't care what hutch or walkonby or Julian or LiveNation or vansmack (you should see the PMs he sends me about you!), you're the best.
Slickee Boys, 1983-ish. Definitely don't have the stub.

Ed has all my stubs, think first was The Go Betweens with Alex Chilton opening up. '84-ish?
My first show at the club's current location was Dead Kenedys in 1985. It was called WUST Music hall that point, i Believe. People were jumping off the second floor balcony into the crowd. And Jello was telling to take the skinheads in attendance outside and kick their asses. Night Joe Theisman had his career ending injury.
Wow, those skinheads must have fucked up Joe real good.
