The drummer/singer for Velvet Crush, Ric Menck, played drums on the last Tyde album. Does he tour with them as well?
ric menck. . .didn't he play drums for matthew sweet as well; maybe not tour, but play on the albums.
Beachwood Sparks…too psychedelic for me.

Also, anyone familiar with Beachwood Sparks? The Tyde and them share some members; Beachwood Sparks is more twangy but worth looking into if you like the Tyde.

So this excerpt on the FF album has created quite a stir in an email exchange of mine.

That's what my friend thinks..or since the 80s, at least.

Skonsters reply was not at all what I was expecting. I thought he would go on about how if you like one act you have to like both. So his candid confession took me completely off-guard.
i recall finding the beachwood sparks cd tough going as well…

once saw velvet crush w/tommy keene on second guitar warm up for oasis… when oasis was good of course

Zestfully enthusiastic.

Boiling or seeming to boil; bubbling.

How about the libertines? Its good for sure, but its not THAT good.

for that matter I wouldn't have described Elastica as particularly ebullient
Anyway I was away in one of those meetings that sucks the life out of me. And yes, I enjoy Felt and am listening to Stains on a Decade right now. Any one of their proper albums worth picking up? I wouldn't know where to begin, but am happy with this disk.

And for two bands that share a lot of members, Beachwood Sparks and the Tyde really do sound quite different - I prefer the Tyde but think they do share some of the same sensibilities.

I only have stains on a decade and absolute classic masterpieces. I was hoping you could recommend more…
My disposable income keeps me from digging much further into their catalog at this point - I was in a store in Philly a couple of months ago and they had 3-4 of their proper albums. I was tempted, but held off.

I have never seen any in a store, though they were all rereleased last year. I dunno if I really need more CDs at this point. Which store in Philly was it?

They have them at Amazon for around $13. But once I start with an Amazon order it never seems to stop. So I try to avoid it.
Yeah, Amazon is a bad scene; if I decide to get one or two discs on there I figure 'why not just get a dozen'. The Philly store was AKA music in old town. Hopefully the link works:

I really like that store.

And they Felt albums looked like the rereleases.

i'll never forget the look of surprise on his face when i gave him a shout out… the other memorable part of the evening was seeing oasis wander by on their way to the stage and thinking how very short they all were.

Yep, thanks, I will have to go sometime.
you can go to a baseball game too! let me know, cause i'd go see a game in the new stadium, although i am going to opening day. plus, they have build-a-phanatic, sponsored by the build-a-bear company. i'm sure the missus would appreciate such a nicety.
I'm just happy I got to go to a game at the hole they called the Vet before it imploded. It was a preseason Eagles game and you could feel the hate even then.

And I'm still debating on the Delgados. I'd like to, but I've been to a show every other day for the past 2-3 weeks and it's been catching up on me.
