Today is pretty much all about the new Red Button album
The 2011 Albums Thread
Finally heard some of the new Bon Iver, sounds like he heard "A Momentary Lapse of Reason" and thought this is great, but it could use even more reverb. Is Dave Gilmour getting some royalties on the back end?
I was listening to that last night (Bon Iver). My wife made a Peter Gabriel comment that I thought was spot on.

My Morning Jacket Cover the Muppets
For the next Muppets movie, Disney has cooked up an ace tribute set titled Muppets: The Green Album, which features top artists like Weezer, Paramore, Andrew Bird, Sondre Lerche, Evanescence's Amy Lee, and others covering classic songs from the Jim Henson songbook (out August 23). One of those highlights is My Morning Jacket's rendition of "Our World," which SPIN is premiering exclusively.

Please see Reed, Lou 'Rock and Roll Animal' (1974)
Supposedly, Kevin Shields and Paul Weller are joining forces to make something of their own. Don't know if it's only one song or maybe even an entire album. Don't have a clue when this might actually see the light of day but I'm just putting it in here for now. Not up for creating a 2013 thread yet! Hopefully, Paul will keep on Kevin's ass enough to allow this work to come to some sort of fruition.
Didn't see this anywhere, but the Black Keys will have a new album by the end of the year:
"it's inspired by the Clash, the Cramps, and old rock'n'roll, rockabilly, and garage rock records."
Supposedly the recording is finished and is being remixed.
