XM vs. Sirius?

Hi…what is the consensus on this board as to the premier satellite radio provider?
xm has baseball and hockey. . that's just about all i really need.
Same as above. Also XM is based out DC and I have toured the place (friend is a DJ there).
Wow, what kind of music does he/she DJ?
I'll summarize:

XM Rules.
Sirius has Stern.
Satellite radio sucks.
All radio sucks.
Except WOXY.
I can't hear WOXY in my car.
It's all too expensive.
Why listen to radio when you have an iPod?

Not too badly now that 1/3rd of their stations are owned by Clear Channel.
xm is tanking; it gave 55 million to oprah.

siruis is gaining. they don't waste $$.

d.c. is a city based in freemason corruption.

howard is god, opie and anthony just left xm.

two sports on xm vs. every other sport on sirius.

the jam channel on sirius makes bong noises.
you're an idiot. O&A didn't leave xm
they do 2 shows now. one on free FM for CBS
in howards old spot, taking the 90% of his listeners that didnt switch plus their xm spot
sirius wasted 500 mil on 1 show….. that is bombing.
who is gonna get sirius radio for nfl or nascar when they are home on sunday?
howard only has 1.1 million listeners
sirius is tanking worse than xm.

It's early yet, but I'll go out on a limb: Post of the week!
wcpr 97.5(?) wdc pirate radio
clear channel has a stake in XM

so go with Sirius.
<<sigh>>

this clear channel thing is so stupid. why does it keep going around and around.

clear channel sold its stake in XM and they are in a nasty war right now. sirius sounds a whole lot more like clear channel with its endless repetition. xm sounds like clear channel mostly on the four out of 73 music channels that clear channel sued them to carry, temporarily.
Perfectly encapsulated, Chutney!

While Sirius is still experiencing losses, a couple of notes to correct some assumptions (from various coverage – NY Times, AP, MSN Money):

Revenues nearly tripled in the quarter to $126.7 million compared with $43.2 million in the same period a year ago as the company continued to build up its subscriber base.

On Wall Street, the stock rose as the sharp rise in revenue and subscriber growth overshadowed the loss.

Just under a third of Howard Stern's once-regular listeners have bought, or plan to buy, access to Sirius Satellite Radio, according to a survey of people who listened to Mr. Stern on terrestrial radio. Another 37 percent now listen to the replacement morning shows on Mr. Stern's old stations. And a third have migrated to other stations, according to Jacobs Media, a radio consultancy.

Howard paid less per hour than Oprah:
Sternâ??s deal is fatter, but heâ??s got to work a four-hour day. Still, $93,000 an hour is nothing to sneeze at â?? unless youâ??re Winfrey, pulling in $705,000. If Oprah Winfrey worked as hard as a shock jock, her pay package from XM Satellite Radio would be worth more than $3 billion.
NEW YORK (AP) - Sirius Satellite Radio Inc. reported Tuesday that its first quarter loss more than doubled, due largely to expenses of $225 million in stock-related compensation to its star shock jock Howard Stern.

Sirius reported a net loss of $458.5 million, or 33 cents a share, for the January-March period compared with a loss of $193.6 million, or 15 cents a share, a year ago.
I acknowledged losses, and yet their stock is going up….

XMU (XM's only station playing indie) is one of the most dissapointing things about satellite radio. It has no personality, plays no older stuff, barely adds any new stuff and repeats the same mediocre songs endlessly.
