new Brit indie night to start this Sun, Jan.18th

I was at the door only to find out I had left my ID at home - been kicking myself but I'll make it out hopefully next Sunday and thereafter!
You will be pleased to here that they did not even bother checking ids……..

FoGC and others involved, Atmosphere was a great night out! Thanks for all the excellent songs and good luck to getting this as a regular night at Blue Room. It was fun to see so many people out and know they were there for the music, not just to do the hipster hang. I hope to chat with you again soon and introduce you to some other DC music people you might not have met.
Thanks for the positive feedback. It was cool getting a chance to meet you, albeit very briefly. I don't know if you and/or your music friends are going to be at the Cure night this coming Sunday night, but I'll definitely be there. I can't pass up on getting a chance to win a free B-sides box set. Not to mention getting a chance to hear loads of great Cure tracks all night long. ;)

maybe before a certain time, or just because you're special?

I'm certainly pleased to read that. When the doorman just shrugged at me as I went to pull out my i.d., I thought, "Geez, I must be looking really old."

FoGC, not sure if I'll be out Sunday night for the Cure night, but it's on my calendar as a possibility. The box set sounds cool – I used to have a cassette that was a "Rarities and B-sides" compilation that I finally wore out.

Sounds to me like you're referring to The Cure's "Staring at the Sea" cassette…

They checked mine, and I'm old as dirt (but not as old as Mankie) :D

Just remembered, I'm out of town for the Cure fiesta. But I'll think of y'all at 10:15 Saturday Night.
i got there just before 9 and there was no one at the door.
I got there about 10:15 – timing is probably the difference.

You're right! The cassette had most of the "Staring at the Sea" album/CD tracks + extras, which were very good live and alternate/rare tracks. Wish I still had that!

Isn't it always in the timing. Our Doorman regularly shows up around 9 to 9:30, so at the beginning they check IDs at the bar.

Hey, FoGC, I thought you were just showing up because you are dating one of the DJs?
