I heard football was for dumb people and soccer was for intellectuals. Any truth to this?

Haha even posts about soccer are dumb
How come everyone talks about how popular soccer is and how much they love the game and yet hardly anyone goes to dc united games.
oh i get it! how clever y'all turning it into another bashin' soccer thread!
i tell you one thing..nobody becomes a frickin vegetable because they play soccer… y'all keep enjoying your american football and enabling a bunch of future cripples, vegetables, and suicides.. don't feel responsible though!

Don't take everything so personally. I'm rather glad I can sometimes watch midweek futbol matches delayed without having the score ruined for me because not everybody watched it. They don't know what they're missing, and I'm completely fine with that.

Being dead last in the league takes some time to recover from; however, the last few games of the year were sell outs.
Try and pay attention.

soccer bashes itself by being so boring. And why would you think talking about a sport that no one likes in a thread about a sport everyone loves is going to end up with anything but bashing.

When you say sold out you mean every seat in rfk was filled? Or do you mean they only sell seats for a 1/3rd of the stadium and when they fill those they call it a sell-out?
Society puts way too much emphasis on watching grown men and women playing games. We really should put the focus on things that really matter….
…Like watching grown men and women playing musical instruments for entertainment purposes. Or beer.

the blue jays were also denied the opportunity to go for the threepeat that year. i remember the talk of an all-canadian world series… gawd that would have been awesome. the conspiracy theorist in me still believes that the '94 season was derailed by american insiders that couldn't stand the thought of the championship going north of the border for a third time.

Is that why Canada forces Hockey to go on strike every few years too?
Actually, I blame America for that one too.
