Show Conflict(s)

I've been going to shows 30+ years, and don't think I've ever had a show conflict.

I don't think I've had a literally defined show conflict, but there's been lots of times when there's a great show on a Tuesday and another one on Wednesday and "oh man, the wife will never go for that one"
Actually I do remember one genuine conflict. It was about 10 years ago, when Franz Ferdinand was playing its first ever show at the club and !!! were playing the Black Cat and I was so torn, but reluctantly chose FF.

The problem ended up solving itself because I got kicked out of 9:30 for smoking weed in the bathroom before FF came on so I walked over to BC and saw !!!.

The Mars Volta @ 9:30
Death Cab @ Black Cat
Anthrax @ Jaxx

I went with The Mars Volta and have never regretted it.

Smokers are jokers.
Yeah we do laugh a lot, it's true.

little angels hover over me, as fortunately this has never happened to me
and I'm a repeat offender…at pretty much every music venue in town ;)
although these new vape pens have pretty much eliminated the smell and the lighter (noise and visual)
so my risk profile has greatly diminished

Security guy at Echostage patted me down and had me take it out and thought he was going to eject me and confiscate
then was like 'is that hash…no sweat, just looking for molly and stuff' (kid had died few nights before)
the times, they are a changing.

Yeah The Mars Volta show was a no brainer for me. Who would have thought this would be their only D.C. show ever? And they got Saul Williams to open! Contender for favorite 9:30 show of all time.
Now it is a triple show conflict with Dilly Dally (new grunge throwback band) in addition to ICP and Wye Oak plus BSO…

I feel like Dilly Dally will tour quite a bit over the next year, and I will have a chance to see them at a better venue…

November 12:
Wye Oak and Baltimore Symphony Orchestra at Meyerhoff
OR
Insane Clown Posse at SoundStage
(Or maybe I can do both)
Prices:  Similar
Music: Of course Wye Oak/BSO would be better
People watching/blog post potential:  ICP and company by a mile
Grr
Jake Bugg - 9/29 (flavor of the month, no one I know likes him…but I really would like to catch this)
Luna - 9/29 (Seen 4-5 times and their most recent 930 reunion show…lots of my friends will likely go and biking distance from my house)

what hurts is both are seated venues too

I know Jake sold out his last 930…but this one is still available
Luna won't sell out and if it does…won't be until that month

Jake…also didn't want to fork over $17 for the 'convenience' of buying online, so need to swing by the club to get these
I won't react.. i won't react.. I won't react…

oh are you trying to get me going? i'm trying to stay cool!

my blood pressure is rising…..
Wow, $45 for Luna, with fees. Pass.
You should go to Jake Bugg with Sideofcrustyeggs and see who breaks down and buys a beer first……

Jake Bugg is young enough to be my son, and I'm not even black. Pass.
Sidehatch, if you haven't seen Jake before, do that.

You should experience new things.

If you have seen him before, then go with your heart.

lol

and no lol for space's rascist comment.
the funny thing is that in the real word Sideofblackenedbacon is trying to rally his friends on Facebook - including me- to go to Luna… some already bought tickets in order to go to the show with SideOfGrits who already told us he bought his ticket for Luna… I guess if worst comes to worse he can give his ticket to Space Jam and then he can have some of the pitcher of beer I'm getting…oh wait a minute.. I don't see SideOfMelon giving his ticket away so nevermind on that…
