Wow that neighborhood is going to be a heck of a lot nicer.
Say Hello To having to pay to park near the 9:30 club
by the time that is done . . . the club will have probably moved, just in time for the last star wars film and rocky five, thousand. so stop complaining.

Uh … The theater is scheduled to open next year. They've already broke ground and are setting up the cranes. Sure, construction can get behind, but it won't be ages.
LOVE the comments on the Popville page.
"I assume the first picture shows the side of the building that borders Georgia/7th? Just what is that ugly-ass building with the big antennae? I?ve walked past it so many times and can?t figure out what it is, other than a street-deadening eyesore."
"Gee, I guess the 930 Club?s thugs won?t come out and assault people for walking that alley during a show anymore, like they did to me?"
"It would be cool if 930 did some big ass murals or something to liven their building?it is a bit of a dump."
Kids these days …

All things lead back to DC being yuppiefied to the max. Everything is fake, just how atomic and walky like it.

Yeah the good old days when bums lived in that alley and all the windows in those buidlings had gun shots in them. I think this is good for IMP either way. More people feel safe in the area so they can get more people to attend shows or they can sell the place for a nice profit and find another neighborhood down on its luck.
slightly off-topic, but does anyone know if the antenna on top of the 930 is still in use? if so, by whom?
I believe it's a Verizon Cell phone tower now.
WUST uses a tower in Fairfax.

Ugh. More of this vanilla bullshit. I'm ALL for new buildings and new establishments, but 14th street looks fucking RIDICULOUS now. There's so many new retaurants and bars and they all look the fucking same. I'm getting sick of this shit. Let all the fucking yuppies run amock. Dupont Circle all over DC.
It's so funny hearing people complain about gentrification. If you want blight, trust me there's plenty of it still out there.

Yeah especially complaining about 14th street. Do people not remember what that was like in the 80's?

Oh, I see it when I walk around! I'm not saying it's not still around, because it is, in heaps. It's just frustrating seeing this kind of stuff going up and who it attracts, but money is money and this is looking to bring in a ton.
The comments on this article are GOLD lol
Sorry, but everything does not stay the same forever. U st will fall and rise and fall again many times to come. Some day you will be able to say "I remember when….."
It just makes me feel like DC is hollow.

Mabye a group of young dudes doing crack in a circle. A bunch of abandoned buildings and maybe a check cashing place and perhaps a liquor store behind bullet proof plastic. Add in a few bums laying on the sidewalk soaked in their ow urine.

Oh yeah…I've been to Camden. Not a yuppie in that place. He'd love it there.
I'd say there's a happy place somewhere between crackheads pissing themselves and chads dining on small plates in every store front. That happy medium doesn't exist in DC.
