Finished the painting I've been working on last night. I'm giving away the file for this for people to make prints if they want (when I can get someone to take a good picture of it). Let me know if you'd like one.
I saw this on Instagram..  Awesome job, I really dig it.

beautiful - and my favorite era!
Yeah, good point. That's roughly 'Station to Station' era, right?
watched "labyrinth" for the first time last night.
very much "of it's time" production wise, but enjoyably silly and worthwhile.
bit of a mash-up of "the wizard of oz" and "where the wild things are" story lines . the character 'ludo' looked a lot like terry gilliam, loved that door knocker scene and could definitely understand how bowie's character could have warped minds.

I've been listening to Black Star a lot lately. One thought I keep having is, if we were all under the impression that his health was fine, would it be as praised as it is? Am I only into it so much because I knew it was his final musical statement?

I mean, it's impossible to listen to it on its own; you have to factor in that he knew he was dying when he was recording it. But would I have liked it so much if it was just another new Bowie album? I didn't give much time or love to The Next Day or really any of his 90s and 00s albums.

Babble babble babble

I was getting my hair cut a couple weeks ago and the shop had a copy of Rolling Stone from December.  There was an article about the upcoming Bowie album and they had nothing but terrific things to say about it.  The mentioned his earlier health issues and how that may have impacted the record, but there was no hint that he was currently so fragile.  They raved about it though.  Bssically "He's back and as good as ever."  It was weird reading that article post-death.  We'll never really be able to have that clean objectivity regarding the album.

Praise and respected, probably yes. As a sought after must-have collectible, probably not. Like they say, you only matter when you're dead.
I love this so so much.

I believe that was in the works before he died.
Lorde and most of boiwe's touring bandmates (for the last few decades) do a little medley and spectacular life on mars at the brit awards

http://www.slate.com/blogs/browbeat/2016/02/24/lorde_s_tribute_to_david_bowie_at_the_brit_awards_video.html

this statement is great:
Lorde walked out to humbly perform one last classic by her hero… Lorde doesn?t particularly sound like Bowie, nor did she try to, choosing instead to just be herself. But sometimes the best way to pay tribute to David Bowie is to remember that there will never be another David Bowie.
anybody else hear Lady Gaga on NPR this weekend? I happened to turn it on to go pick up some mobys kabobs and didn't know who it was until the very end.. worth hearing if you missed it and are a Bowie fan…

Did she talk about how she turned what was supposed to be a Bowie tribute into an ad for Intel?
