I'd love to find a place within walking distance of the 9:30/U Street Metro so I can catch great shows after a long day at work. Looking for $700/month. I lived on 13th and U (a couple of blocks from the 9:30 club) and it's not dangerous at all. Good places to eat, best bars in town. Good choice! I can't tell you where to look at, but start at the Washington Citypaper.

I already live about a 10 minute walk. U street/ logan circle is perfectly safe. Have not had any trouble in the year that I've spent here. If you have any issues regarding crime then they are most likely due to an out-dated reputation the area had years ago. Its safe enough for me and most local residents would also aggree. Cheers

Good luck finding a place for $700/month in the area now…I use to live over at 10th and S and didn't have problems there either, but $700/month now? I guess if you're looking for a house with multiple roommates it would be easier but your own place..FOGETABOUTIT

That second listing is messed up. Sounds like they are squatting in someone's basement and stealing their phone and internet. Who would advertise free rooming on a sofa as long as you enjoy hard living ie dung encrusted housing??? And whats with the plug for cheap calls to russia? I'm kinda tempted to check the place out just to see what the deal is.

This Metrobus line runs all day and all night, 24 hours.

Yeah it sounds sketchy as hell. Craigslist is great for wierd shit like that.
