I've never thought of New Orleans as one of the largest live music markets which is why I could have seen the Cure not having played the place……love the place… but it just isn't a first tier market in anything

Why would you see the Cure in Nawlins when a band playing on the side of the road is probably better??

OK, I am dropping out of this conversation.

That link is for the 25 LARGEST cities in the USA.  All of those charts are for the SAME 25 cities.  New Orleans IS NOT ONE OF THE 25 LARGEST CITIES IN AMERICA.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_States_cities_by_population

It is number 50.  SO it would not be on your list/link.

That does NOT mean NOLA as a market is not HUGE.  It is the place people in Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, and other Southern states go.

I was thinking more of this hobo-esque genre.

I don't hate anybody.  I don't really like your posting style though.

One niggling thing though – who the fuck needs four encores anyway?

Old people.
29 songs was not enough so past two shows have upped to 34 songs… so far seems like alternating nights get Disintegration heavy setlist…
up a song to 35.. last night was for those who love kiss me kiss me..7 songs from there.. 5 from disintegration and FOUR from bloodflowers..

i'd take that…
First perfect girl since 1990!
Last night's setlist from Colorado is insane. 4 songs from Seventeen Seconds, and "Cold" and a "Strange Day". I realize the odds are low that I'll get to see all of those in the same show, but I would flip for that.
Not that it really matters much, but I will be at the concert!!! So stoked, because it's my first time seeing them in 12 years. I'll be in the lawn seats, which honestly is not a bad thing. The one time I saw the cure, I had press passes and got to be about only 2 feet from Robert Smith (yes I can post the crappy photos I took for my college's newspaper if you really want a good laugh). I think the experience was so much for my 18-year-old self that now at 30-going-on-31, I'm just like "woohoo, can't believe I got a pair of lawn tickets to the sold Cure concert!" All I ask is for is decent weather and to maybe hear "Charlotte Sometimes" (they didn't do it when I saw them last). The fact they've been playing "Burn" just makes me happy.
curious…is there a public transit option?
No
