I wore my cotton suit and pink bow tie today in honor of the derby.

why did smakie wear the cotton suit and pink bow tie on the day that
wasn't the Kentucky Derby?
was he preping, testing out what he would wear to such a momentous sporting day?

Sorry, should have mentioned that I have next Friday off and have a tradition of wearing the cotton suit or a seersucker suit the Friday before the Derby.
Many people actually asked if the Derby was this weekend….

To be fair, the Derby Festival has been going on for days.
My weekend was entirely dedicated to finalizing my outfit, getting it tailored, and drinking hopped cider with friends as we planned our Derby Saturday.

I half thought about texting Jules a photo as I knew he would be the only one besides my mom to truly appreciate it. Maybe I'll do a repeat on Thurs…

We had a hopped cider festival in town. As I predicted it was 80% female. Fantastic life decision.

Since I've hijacked this thread to be about the Derby and my go-go glitterati lifestyle, can we discuss this poster?

What do people think of this? Is this offensive cultural appropriation or fair use? I asked my go-to cultural consultant, The Director, and he mostly just labelled it tomfoolery and seemed irked I was asking. Does the hashtag #HorseOwnerLivesMatter potentially take this into egregious bad taste? Thoughts?

did ween cause pemberton fest to fold??
Fyre Was Bad. For the Concert Industry, This One Could Be Worse.Pemberton, planned for July 13 to 16 with acts including Chance the Rapper, Muse and A Tribe Called Quest, was abruptly canceled on May 18, when the two companies behind it declared bankruptcy. In a break from standard practice, ticket holders were not offered refunds, but were instead told that they could ?file a proof of claim form as an unsecured creditor.? secured creditors, … stand a better chance of getting their money back than the fans who paid $275 a ticket

Damn . . . one less festival chance the rapper isn't headlining. Only, 500 more to go.
