Most Overrated Albums of 2006

I'd put my vote in for Margot & The Nuclear So & So's. I picked it up to finish up this month's eMusic haul, and it's boring me to tears.

Any others?
I agree…EVERYONE was really hyping that album.
Such a disappointment…ruined my entire year.
Among the albums I bought and have been disappointed by:

Mastodon - no fun

Muse - loved their first three albums, just don't like this one.

Islands - Everytime I put this on, I get bored and figure if I want yowly "epic" indie, I'll just listen to Arcade Fire.

Iron Maiden - My intense love for these guys is firmly entrenched in their 80s output.

And it's early (just got it the other day) but I'm not seeing the brilliance of Hot Chip yet.
Well here are the highest rated albums on metacritic:

26 Game Theory by The Roots 2006 83
27 Like Red On A Rose by Alan Jackson 2006 83
28 Pretty Little Head by Nellie McKay 2006 83
29 Love by The Beatles 2006 83
30 The Body, The Blood, The Machine by The Thermals 2006 83

Of their top 30, only one will make my top 10. Though I quite liked Nellie McKay's debut, I thought her new one was a rambling mess. The recrod company was right in wanting to pare it down.

Wow. I was just about to finish out my emusic haul with this album…
I would've never guessed OOIOO's new album would be in the top 30, let alone the top 30.

I totally agree with the Arctic Monkeys album, too much hype for just one song… (which is pretty good, I must say)

3 Hell Hath No Fury by Clipse 2006 91

That album's borderline fuckin' amazin'. Making you feel empathy for someone that moves yay is a new emotion in hip-hop . . . .
Maybe it's my poor reading comprehension skills, but I have no idea what you just said.

Thom Yorke did, but i dont think it was overrated. his solo album seemed to come and go without much notice…though i enjoy it thoroughly!

it was fairly universally panned, so it must have been REALLY shitty to have been overrated

If by "fairly universally panned," you mean "given generally favorable reviews," then yeah…

Who besides Brennser and myself are talking this album up? For me it's a solid four star record that isn't going to change the world, but the song writing and arrangements are solid. It's also one of those that takes a couple times to sink in records…. Besides nkotbie is a Andrew W.K. fan so what do you expect ;)

My overrated choice is The Raconteurs… It's just not a good as it could have been.

touche, i remembered reading a lot of shitty ones for some reason
Stadium Aracadium - RHCP… I am done with this band.. finished..
Nobody else, I guess. But based on some of the conversation on here, I was expecting a sleeper hit.

Of course, this should be an indication of what kind of esteem I hold you both in :D .

there was definitely a lot of talk about the band on here this year, not sure if it was about the album
