Baltimores Little Italy Suggestion?

Hey guys, i know im a little off topic here with this one but here goes…
Taking my girl out for her birthday and would like to do it at a nice Italian Joint in Little Italy in Baltimore.
Any good recommendations? Price is not an issue. I used to live in Boston's North End, so the bar has been set high.
Thanks!

I like Casear's Den. Small, delicious, right out of the Godfather. I know the owners, it's a very nice little place.

Take her to BOP over in nearby Fells Point. You can't go wrong with a couple of slices of their pie. Expensive restaurants are usually overpriced disappointments waiting to happen.

too bad it's not d.c., because the best italian (in my opinion) is a place called La Perla, near 24th and penn. ave., nw. keep it in mind if you are in the district, ever. price is high, service is untouchable, setting is florence-ish. "mama mia, that's an incredible restaurant!" and stay away from filomena's in georgetown, on wisconsin ave. it blows, now. lost a star in the rating, big time.
i know this helps you not for baltimore, but i'm good at being a waste of time. ask sonic or miss marple. but seriously, consider that restaurant if you're ever in dc!

Thanks for the suggestions. Although, if i wanted a good slice of pie, i dont have to go all the way to baltimore. I dont mind spending good money on a dining experience. Word of mouth usually keeps my disappointements at a minimum. thanks again!

Boccacio's has a handful of awards and is old world/school styled Italian food.

I've tried about four different Italian restaurants in Little Italy and have been disappointed by them all. IMHO, Little Italy is way overrated and best avoided. The best Italian restaurant in Baltimore in my experience is actually on South Charles St. It's called Vespa.
http://www.citypaper.com/eat/review.asp?id=1753 http://www.baltimoremagazine.net/annuals/best_restaurants04/best_restaurants_2004.asp Brass Elephant is definitely one of the top 3 or 4 best restaurants I've eat at in Baltimore, but I would not call it an Italian restaurant at all, although they do have a pasta dish or two on their menu.
