ATREYU!!!!!

ha, that's awesome you knew deceased 20 years ago.

the only original member left is king fowley, who was the huge drummer/singer. king had a stroke a few years back and now only sings, but he's the best. deceased are the kings of thrash/death metal; all of their songs are full of pure metal riffage. king has another band called october 31 that is more power metal (like manowar and helloween). they're fantastic, too.

last time i booked deceased at the warehouse, king showed up in a michael schenker group t-shirt. now, that's metal!

Well maybe not quite 20 years…'88 or '89 though. Close enough. I looked at their site and sure enough my old bud Leslie (the asian guy)still plays bass for them. He's not an original member though. I'd heard King had some medical problems. Glad to hear he's still at it.

hmmm…the site might be old…i don't think i recall seeing an asian guy in the band the last couple of years. or maybe he rejoined.

He goes by Les now, at least according to all the sites….their myspace page says he's in the band still….prolly couldn't tell he's asian through all the hair!

worst tour of the fall. but its going be nice to see etid and leave early.

Most people who dislike Atreyu have listened to very little of their stuff. Try "Creature" or "Corsetting (probably their best one)" They can come off as a little emo-y but overall they rock. The best? Maybe not but I'll bet they put on a good show. Will be there.

Honestly I was never that into this music much but I was always impressed by the massive tape trading underground scene that went along with death metal or whatever you want to call it. I had some high school friends in a band (really of no consequence locally…i don't even remember their name) but they would get mail from all over the world…..just through their tapes being copied and mailed again and again.
