I hope these aren't the US tour dates from Morrissey. I'd be interested to check him out, but not at Lollapalooza. Though BRMC and Le Tigre would be cool, I'll bet the two day format results in daily lineups just too diluted for me to be interested in.
Are there even plans for a HFStival this spring? (You know, we started out with one of the founding and best all-day radio station sponsored summer festivals, and now it's one of the worst…)

According to everyone's favorite part-time poster - Jakez468 - the HFStival will be May 22 and 23.

Wow, at FedEx Field! There goes the metro option….but it's true. If it's at FedEx, wouldn't you expect HUGE bands? And, why two days??

From MTV.com
Lollapalooza 2004, the festival's ninth incarnation, promises to deliver two full days of indie rock, fringe culture and bad sunburn at each stop this time out, with Morrissey, String Cheese Incident, Sonic Youth, Flaming Lips, Modest Mouse and the Polyphonic Spree headlining the main stage.
These acts are part of a roster of more than 30 bands that will join the roving festival for its 20-city trek. More artists and a full itinerary are expected to be announced later this week.
"This summer we will embody the spirit of the Gypsy, the sense of exhilaration; traveling by caravan! Thirty bands and buses of artisans sleeping over each and every city. The days and nights will be filled with mischief," said Lollapalooza founder Perry Farrell, who plays ringmaster to the road show yet again. As in previous years, Lollapalooza will also feature a traveling community devoted to political activism, cutting-edge technology and mass gaming.
If the thought of shelling out for two days of tickets is a turnoff, don't fret. Promoters are lowering Lollapalooza's ticket price.

Heard Moz's single from the new album last night on XM…Moz fans will be happy, but I don't think he'll attract any new one's as it's very typical Morrissey.
"Irish Blood, English Heart"
He must be singing about my Rory!

I've always maintained that my mix of Irish (75%) and English explains all that inner turmoil plaguing me… ;)

Sonick, I'm with you, kind of. Not all the solo stuff is awful, but I never listen to it. It's definitely subpar comparet to, well, you know. Still, he's a trip and a half to see…

Broken Social Scene, the Walkmen, the Killers, the Von Bondies, Secret Machines, Bumblebeez, Sahara Hotnights, Danger Mouse and the Datsuns have been added to this summer's Lollapalooza festival, Billboard.com has learned. The tour will kick off July 14 outside Seattle and will feature its first two-day lineup.
One night's lineup will sport the above bands as well as Morrissey, Sonic Youth, Le Tigre, PJ Harvey, Modest Mouse and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. The second night includes String Cheese Incident, Gomez, Flaming Lips, the Thrills, the Polyphonic Spree, the Coup, Sound Tribe Sector 9, Elbow, Wheat and Dresden Dolls. DJ Peretz (tour co-founder Perry Farrell) will perform with both bills.

I didn't see them.
50/50 aint exactly a stellar endorsement, given that people were there to see them.
And the Post said they were godawful, rare when the Post is THAT negative.

the little jewish guys at the post just hate canadians.
seemed like it was more like case of "it clicks for some people and not all".
glad you formed such a definative opinion without attending

I guess the real question is, where are they playing? I mean, Nissan Pavilion? because thats REALLY lame. If they had it at Bull Run (god forbid) or wherever they had Lollapalooza before, then thats cool. but pavilions suck cause unless you have good seats, you're watching the WHOLE thing from the lawn? lame lame lame.

The Post, Pollard, and Mark E. Smith all panned it. How much more definitive than that can you get?
