I've never been to Lollapalooza. How does the 2nd-stage work? Are those bands on a different stage at the same time bands are playing on the main stage? Or is it possible to run back-and-forth and see everyone?

Tell the cops in the parking lot to lighten up. [/QB]
Pitchfork lists the line-up by city. August 12 seems to be the day to attend…

speaking of whichâ?¦any suggestions?
Originally posted by Seth Hurwitz:The parking lots need some kind of numbering/naming system so that you can keep track of where you are parked. When you come out of the show, it is dark, and with the trees and paths, it can be disorienting. (Plus it always looks different when the lots are full.) Some type of system (similar to a parking garage) where I can note, "Okay, I am in B2." Then maps around the site with the lots marked. That would be a huge help!

Looks like our Day Two lost a lot of the big draws (making it easy to pick a day for me…)
From Pitchfork
However, this year they seem to have the right idea, striking a nice balance of bands and reminding us of why the whole damn thing seemed like a good idea in the first place, while expanding the festival to a two-day format. Keeping in mind that some bands aren't playing all of the festivals dates, Day One of the 2004 edition features, among others: Morrissey, 'Palooza vets Sonic Youth, PJ Harvey, Modest Mouse, Le Tigre, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Broken Social Scene, The Von Bondies, The Walkmen, and the increasingly impossible to avoid Danger Mouse.
The schedule for Day Two features the Pixies, The Flaming Lips, Wilco, The String Cheese Incident, Michael Franti & Spearhead, The Polyphonic Spree (all 83 of them), TV on the Radio, The Thrills (who may or may not be better than The Stills), The Fire Theft, and Elbow. Now that's some good alternative music festival. In further exciting Day Two news, Perry Farrell (festival curator/Jane's Addiction frontman/goth chick from Mean Girls) has announced plans to team up with The String Cheese Incident on Lollapalooza's two Denver dates.

If I'm going to have to take time off from work, than Elbow better show up for Day 2, which doesn't seem to be the case. So, no Day 2 for me. Now I only have to decide if it's worth using a valuable vacation day for Day 1 when the year has so many other reasons to use that day. Crap! If it were only on a weekend.

can we expect similar prices to the one right before it in Ohio?
around $50 total for a 2 day pass
Originally posted by pollard:I saw a ticket price listed for CA shows where the 2 day pass was $75. Either way (50 or 75), I think it is a good deal.
