another vote for badly drawn boy a few years ago (i'm assuming you mean with his whole band). brought some friends who'd never heard him, they left after about a half hour (during which he played maybe 1 1/2 coherent songs). a waste of everyone's time and money.
worst show you've ever seen at 9:30?
OK, i think the Vines were VERY VERY bad.
I saw Outkast put on a horrific show there back in 1998 or so. Cypress Hill (1999) was very very bad as well.
the worst band i think i have ever seen there, was probably, the band that opened for the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, the Tall Boys i think it was. Man, i coulda killed them.
As for Fatboy Slim, why dont people get it. First off, i was involved with that show so i remember it well. Fatboy and his dj getup in the middle of the club was very cool and something i'd never seen there. And the stuff he was playing were his own dubplates of remixed songs and what not. Those were not records you can buy at the store or hear by someone else. If you noticed ALL the records in his crate were white with a number on them. anyway, i dont know what you expected him to do, mankie. summersaults? a strip tease?

I didn't go to the Fatboy Slim show…but I can say that I wouldn't have had a problem with him just dj'ing…I think the problem is his charging $40 to hear him dj. Do any discos get that much cover for a star dj?

Clubs are where you see live music. Discos are where they play pre-recorded music. Morrissey used "disco" and he was post-1980. Gotta go by what the Moz says.
Burn down the disco
Hang the blessed DJ
Because the music that they constantly play
IT SAYS NOTHING TO ME ABOUT MY LIFE
Hang the blessed DJ
Because the music they constantly play

that'd easily be Tricky @ 930 in dec 97. that shit just went on and on and on …
Tricky in Sept. 99 wasn't too great either. I walked out of that one.
Tricky in January '97 (didn't see it at 9:30 though), w/ Martina, shortly after the release of Pre-millenium Tension was an awesome show.

I think Nation charges like $20 on friday nights. which is ironically the same price for a long island iced tea there!
$40 seems reasonable for Fatboy though, since someone has to pay for his big bag of coke!
