Lollapalooza

Whose in? And do we love each other enough to sit together. Translation who wants to abuse there credit card tomorrow for the presale.
I'm not…the second day, Aug. 13, is the same day as Prince.
I'd be interested in the first day, but will be on vacation then.

Enjoy.
I'll be presenting at a conference that week. Probably the only thing I can think of that would be less fun than going to Lollapalooza. :(
I'm going the first day. PJ Harvey, Sonic Youth, Morrissey, Modest Mouse? That sounds like putting up with the traffic and crap. PJ and SY were the ones that clinched it for me. I'm going to do my best to get pit tickets or at least the first few rows. If I can't get those then I'll probably think twice.
I think I may at least get tickets to the first day. I haven't decided about Day 2…
What's the presale through?
It looks like the whole show is GA. Ugh.
Just bought tickets…

Looks like there is only inside the Pavilion (titled Orchestra) and the Lawn. No assigned seating.
At Merriweather they have traditionally been pretty militant about people staying in their seats and out of the aisles. I wonder how a GA show will go over.
Just picked up two tickets for the first day.
I saw the travelling version of the Newport Folk Festival at Merrieweather a few years ago (Wilco, Lucinda Williams, Violent Femmes, Nanci Griffith, Rufus Wainright, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, Mark Eitzel, etc). It was general admission, with two stages. Cool setup. Not much of a problem moving from one place to another.

Would go to the first day to see my secret lover, but we don't fly back from Ireland till the 13th…YES! Friday the 13th is when we fly!! I told my wife she's lost her freak'n mind booking a flight on that day!

She told me to stop being such a fag, so I shut up…

I like the sound of this setup.

done.
Thanks very much, Thirsty and Markie. You are both scholars and gentlemen. Two day passs for me. And very cheap, considering.
i don't see how they'll do the show without seats… my recollection is that there are typical arena seats bolted to the floor. which means if you want to have good seats for morrissey, people will need to be camped out in them the minute the gates open.

looking at the seating chart there is orchestra pit where seats are often of the folding kind which can be easily removed. but thats only the first five rows of the venue which can't hold more than 75 to 100 people.

maybe seth can tell us how the seatings working…
I'd be stunned if this was general admission. I'd like that to be the case, but I know those seats are in fact bolted and what a pain it would be to take them out for just 2 shows in the middle of the summer season. And I'm sure that some people would actually prefer seats (not me). I'm hoping though that my general admission seats actually mean the pit if that's the case. We'll see :)
