Killers jumping the shark?

I think you missed NKOTB's point.

Killers soooo sold out. I mean I loved their first album until everyone else started liking it and the radio started playing their stuff. I hate them now.
…was full of sarcasm.

But that might just be me.

but what if they start playing it on the radio a lot?!? then you're not allowed to like it! :)
You are correct. I dont know that the Killers are the most original band out there but my many people's estimation, they put out a fantastic first album and are a pretty decent live act. Solid band despite what the haters say….

I'm not trying to target the kids listening to crappy music…I just feel like they deserve better choices. Of course, nowadays with the internet, whatever music you choose is everywhere, as long as you have a computer and access to the internet. In the grand scheme of things, I do care about what happens to rock'n'roll because I think that we need something that is a bit more raw, honest, and dangerous.
you should check out dirty pretty things live. i think youll get your raw, honest and dangerous act all rolled into one. (just dont start comparing them to the libertines and every other band before you hear/see them and the kate moss stuff is so cliche). dont worry tho, the killers hype will be gone, as its now being said that kooks are going to be bigger than everyone. thank god im seeing them at a small club before the hype makes me sick of them

Are Dirty Pretty Things playing over here, or are you over there (England)?

I thought the Kooks album was pretty weak.
Arem't they doing a handful of US dates>?

I don't know if the band has jumped the shark, but the drummer has reportedly jumped an Olsen twin.

carl barat = rock star

he carried the libertines (sans-pete) every time i saw them and put on really commanding performances … if he's half as good in dirty pretty things they'll be a great live act

i saw dirty pretty things in new york at the bowery. im in NYC currently. dirty pretty things played 2 shows (i think) in NYC. not sure if they played elsewhere. and im not all that impressed with the kooks but there is quite a bit of hype. as long as they're good live (ill know soon, seeing them at the bowery as well).
