Wrens Roll Call

Hasn't been much chatter about this show…I'm planning to go but haven't gotten a ticket yet. Anyone think that's gonna be a problem?
Got my tix. I missed their last show, but didn't it sell out?
got mine, very excited, caught the last one which did sell out, but i think mainly b/c the kiddies came out in droves to see Army of Me
Any opinions on Andy Zipf or the Nein?
nein
It's only an additional $3.75 to buy through ticketmaster (it's a lot based on the price of the ticket, but as the ticket is still less than $16, it just feels do-able), so I think I'll go ahead and buy online – I've NEVER done that for a Black Cat show!!!
They were great last time. They better not sell out before I get there.
I think Andy Zipf is one of the best local acts in the city, personally. Sort of a blend between Jeff Buckley and Richard Ashcroft.
Yeah - I think I'm going to avoid any risk and pay the TM convenience fee. Saw them at Intonation and they were quite good. It'll be nice to see them without 100 degree heat and a blistering sun.

Oh wait - this will be at the Black Cat…forget what I said about the blistering sun :)
Anyone know the story with Black Cat will call? Do I need my TicketBastard confirmation number (as you do at 9:30) or the credit card I used to charge the ticket? I usually don't bring my whole wallet to the club…

Thanks

Just name and ID if I remember correctly
It varies, but you're usually ok with just id
I'd bring the credit card also, just in case…
Andy is a good guy and a hard working musician. Catch him if you can, very unique. Amazing strong vocals too.
Eh, Andy is not all that unique. More singer/songwriter DC-style. The Nein are better, a b it more interesting pop.
What's DC style? Okay, he's not a one and only. But he's not just a person w/ a guitar. He uses different devices, has a pretty unique voice w/great range. He's not my all-around favorite, but I'll support the locals.
and I believe he'll be with a band this evening; it isn't quite as simple as acoustic singer/songwriter. I still think Richard Ashcroft is the best comparison.
andy zipf is a nice kid. decent songwriter. good voice.

recommended if'n you like mark eitzel or jeff buckley.
That was absolutely brilliant.
Andy Zipf was really good too. Not so much the for middle band (the Nein). And yes, the Wrens were excellent. You can tell they've been playing together for years.
I also bought Secaucus, which is impossible to find, and I'm listening right now. :D
