Roll Call: Ted Leo
It was half-full. Full band with drummer, vibraphone player, and keyboardist. Amazing show, I thought. 90 minute show!

i had a good time. ted sounded good. some songs off tyranny of distance which i love. i didn't hang around much for the encore (true fact: i hate encores) so if he played under the hedge i'll be sad, but i'm betting he didn't.
i thought the crowd was bouncy and fun. and largely not-annoying which is nice.
love of diagrams didn't do much for me. like a less-interesting rogers sisters maybe.

It would take both hands and maybe one foot to count the number of times Iâ??ve seen Ted Leo. I thought last night was among the best of them. The added guitarist really rounds things out. The setlist was a well laid out mix of new and old. He almost lost the mojo by playing â??Bomb, Repeat, Bombâ? â?? a song which should henceforth be banished from his repertoire â?? but quickly got it back.
I though Love of Diagrams were fantastic. Maybe the singing isnâ??t for everyone, but itâ??s post-punk â?? not a genre known for mellifluous vocal styling.

I WONDER IF THAT WAS YOU
NO. IT WASN'T ME. SORRY.
starting 15 minutes before the time posted on 930.com isn't cool. otherwise, all very cool. except for bombrepeat, on which i very much agree w/ggw.
Originally posted by BookerT:I wonder if NPR had something to do with that? The article promoting the webcast stated that the show would start sometime around 9:40. Apparently, they knew about the early start time.

Ted kicked ass, I'm so thankful I finally got to see him. The new songs did sond pretty good live, although I too think he would do well not to play "Bomb" anymore. The reggae one came off pretty well, though.

Anyone have an opinion of the opener, Love of Diagrams?
I thought 'Bomb' and 'Unwanted Things' were both killer. I really only wish that he had played La Costa Brava, which is definitely my favorite track on the album.

Saw Ted Leo & the Pharmacists last night and they were great, lots of energy. Love of Diagrams had to cancel due to illness, so a local band opened. They were OK, but I'm not rushing to see when they're performing next.
