Every time I hear the song "On Second Thought" by The Fakes. It reminds me of my cat who just died this past May 27th.
"Goodbye angel, goodbye angel;
You've gone away."

Sorry, to hear of your loss. The last time I cried was over a beloved pet I'd had the pleasure of spending 17 years with. It's a terrible feeling. More loyal than most humans, that's for sure. Her name was Sheena. I'm sure you can guess where the name came from.

i will admit it: i totally cried the one time i saw dashboard confessional live. ah, the thrills of teenage romance…
i have these recurring fucked up dreams where my dead relatives are still alive (i had one last night too even) and a lot of the time i wake up crying uncontrollably. i've had variations of these dreams for at least seven years now, but they have been happening super frequently ever since my dear grandma passed in the fall. i really miss her and i guess sort of still cry about her during the day sometimes at random times, because everything reminds me of her. the dreams are really intense.
oh and i shed approximately two tears when i saw broken social scene at siren fest a few weeks ago…

a few random things that can make me shed a tear:
- getting a phone call one afternoon during my senior year in high school that told me a close friend of mine for 5 years had been killed in a car accident a couple of hours prior. It wasn't the phone call that hurt - it was knowing that I wasn't able to attend his funeral because I had plans to be out of town the coming weekend that really got to me.
- almost any song by Sigur Ros. There is something that I can't explain about this music… it's just on a whole different level than almost anything I listen to.
- the movie "Hardball" - probably the saddest movie I can think of. Also, The Green Mile can make me shed tears.

My Dog Skip. That movie kills me. And The Goonies too, not the movie itself but the fact that so many here seem to love it so.

The saddest thing I can remember, it didn't make me cry though for some reason, was when I was in the Navy. The ship had just sailed for a 9 month deployment on a hush-hush mission and I got a signal (I was in communications) the next day informing us that the three young children of one of the ships crew had died when their home was destroyed in a fire. I woke the captain up to find out how to handle it. We were not due near land for another 2 weeks so was told not to tell him until we could get him off the ship and home. Obviously, by this time his children will have been buried. I had to spend the next two weeks looking this poor chap in the eye knowing he'd lost his family. It was tough, real tough, but I couldn't avoid him because he'd know something was wrong if the sparky was being weird around him.
The real sad end to this story is the reason the house caught fire is because his wife was upstairs shagging some other bloke and the kids were downstairs and found some matches.
On a much brighter note, I would also get the signals if someones wife had given birth so the tradition was to wake them up with a beer in hand to congratulate them.

I'm sure I shed a tear or two when Bush was "elected". Now I just cry when I hear his voice.

you were in the navy? must, must hold on, cannot resist….
In the navy
Yes, you can sail the seven seas
In the navy
Yes, you can put your mind at ease
In the navy
Come on now, people, make a stand
In the navy, in the navy
Can't you see we need a hand
In the navy
Come on, protect the motherland
In the navy
Come on and join your fellow man
In the navy
Come on people, and make a stand
In the navy, in the navy, in the navy (in the navy)

I used to cry all the time as a kid while watching episodes of Little House on the Prairie.

Damn!
I'm all ears BTW.
Bearman delivered on this BTW. Sadly, the photo has occupied some closet space the last year or so…
