Yes, it's much more acceptable to be insulting to people you know than people you don't know.
Actually, it is.

If "Wayne" responded to me like that, it really wouldn't faze me because I know he is generally flippant and I would see the humor in it. I don't think that someone who is posting here for the first time would necessarily take it in the same vein.
flippant is now my favourite word…
Community is now my favorite word.

I think it was Apocolyptica who scored Your Friends and Neighbors entirely with Metallica covers.
Which kicked serious ass, too. Controversial opinion, Catherine Keener is hot.

Bring it, nkotb.

That is some funny stuff.
Once upon a time Rasputina was pretty cool (like in 1998), but the last time I saw them (opening for Belle and Sebastian in 2003) they SUCKED. They were really good when they had the drummer from Alice Donut playing with them (the one that looked like Sideshow Bob).
I must agree that the show rocked and I was pleasantly surprised. In fact I'm rocking to them right now.

dude, please, is that really necessary?

isn't all music good, just good to different people?

i bet rasputina are very hard working people who went up on stage and gave it their best shot, who are we to speak badly of them?
Oops…my bad!
Please, no negative comments about Rasputina. Eddie (the original poster) might be spooked away and never come back, thus losing out on his opportunity to be part of a pretty darn cool community.

I don't know, I've seen them at least a half dozen times. Sure they were really good back in 98 when they were doing the whole darkwave/goth thing and appealing to that audience. However, they played the Black Cat last year with Minus the Bear and put on an excellent show. Looking forward to seeing them on Saturday after hitting Bender for DJ? Acucrack ;)

Also for you cello freaks check out Murder By Death. Another kick ass band with a hot chick playing cello ;) One of her cellos has "Eddie" airbrushed on it from Iron Madien!

Jag: Catherine Wheel…beautiful music. Let's keep it a secret from the others, okay? BTW: Did you ever give Engineers a listen? What think you? If Apocalyptica turned on the fans the other night, these bands might provide a break from harder stuff too…

i dont think Catherine Wheel are much of a secret. are they even still around. I saw them a few times in the 90's.
"Black Metallic" is one of my all time favourite songs….
nkotb: [after much prodding by econo] Ok. The best fuck I ever had. That would be your wife. That was the best fuck I ever had.

econo: That beats my story.

i had a friend that lived in britain during the height of the shoegaze scene and marvelled at the "success" of catherine wheel in the states in comparison to the u.k.
I LOVE Catherine Wheel. How is Rob's LP? I thought the last CW record was disappointing, too bad, they were an incredible band for a while there. They also had the world's nicest bass player.
