I LOVE Catherine Wheel. How is Rob's LP? I thought the last CW record was disappointing, too bad, they were an incredible band for a while there. They also had the world's nicest bass player.
apocalyptica
Good GOD, go pick up Chrome RIGHT NOW, TODAY. (Sorry, just a knee-jerk reaction…that's only one of the best records I own, an album that even now blows me away and I listen to every couple of weeks.) God I wish I was discovering something lately as good as that. It's just one of those LPs that stands up over the test of time.
I second the 'Chrome' endorsement. 'Ferment' is also excellent (and not just for Black Metallic).
Avoid 'Wishville' like you would the plague

Only 2 decent songs on Wishville…Lifeline and Mad Dog.
Ferment KILLS too. I also have all the Ferment-era b-sides (some pretty rare stuff), so if anyone would like a trade or sorts, let me know. Really, really great stuff. I would have switched out some of Happy Days with the b-sides (Backwards Guitar for example should NEVER have been a b-side). Adam & Eve has some good moments.

Jag: Catherine Wheel…beautiful music. Let's keep it a secret from the others, okay? BTW: Did you ever give Engineers a listen? What think you? If Apocalyptica turned on the fans the other night, these bands might provide a break from harder stuff too…
Yes, I'm well familiar with Engineers and have a couple of their CDs. Quite good. It killed me to have to miss them when they played the 9:30 Club last Fall, or whenever it was.
