oh, so all festival have shitty sound?
If anyone can make it early to the Flaming Lips stage, they'd appreciate any help in blowing up balloons
Majority of the ones I've been to, yes. Also applies to ampitheater and arena shows.

someone, somewhere* mentioned that VHS or Beta will be DJ'ing at 5:00… apparently the location will be the Virgin Mobile Tent (can't confirm the time, tho).

* can we get search functionality on this board, pweety pwease?

it was me who mentioned it. let me look for where i saw that 5pm thing.

and they may take Tiesto's place cause he just cancelled.
yeah, accoring to http://www.virginfestival.com/artists.html

1) VHS or Beta are confirmed for 5:00 at the VM tent.

2) they will not be replacing tiesto - the new dance tent schedule has sets extended to cover the whole day without adding anyone. i foresee some dissappointed raver-kidz.
Not that I would consider going to this overpriced, under-talented concert, but it's on Rosh Hashana anyway. Which I found to be pretty stupid.
I'm looking forward to this festival. I think there's something to be said for strategizing so you get the bang for your buck while running between stages. Plus, at least it won't be 110 deg like Coachella and ACL Fest have been. A little early morning cocktail before boarding the bus just sweetens the deal.

I opted for the Download Festival in SF instead.

I'm sure the date was probably dictated by the touring schedules of the bands and not just picked out of thin air. I mean, c'mon…the promoter's name is "Seth Hurwitz."

Besides, Jews only make up 2% of the U.S. population, and not all of them are observant.
I'll be there! Where ya sitting? :)

one of the things that i like about these festivals, is the interesting people you meet, the old friends you run into and just the being outside all day listening to good music around a bunch of other people that are out to have a great time.

you dont normally get that on a wednesday evening in a bar!

but i suppose not everyone on here likes to be social and stuff.

luckily, few of the locals can afford to attend. i'm looking forward to a very gentrified crowd.

"gentrified" people dont listen to the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
