Virgin Festival Roll Call

so, after page after page of bitching, moaning, and complaining…who's sucking it up and attending on saturday?
Not a chance in hell.
The closest I will get is dropping my girfriend off who is working there
I'm in and can't wait… I'll be wearing a La La t-shirt and going up on one of the On Tap buses.
The what festival?
me
Sorry, hanging out with 10,000 drunk 20 year old virgin guys isn't my idea of fun.
why, because you prefer them one at a time? :)

i'll be there, on the bus. there, that should kill any last-minute ticket sales.
I'm in for Saturday, but I am offended at the generality that the show will be full of 20 year old male virgins.
That is absolutely not true.

signed,

The 40 year old virgin.
I am going for sure. along with about 10 of my friends who are brunching it before we head up to Pimlico.

I know about 25 people going and not one of them is a 20 year old virgin (not that i know any 20 year old virgins).

It remains to be seen what kind of crowd will show up. I have mixed feelings on whether it will be a more festival type crowd, or a rock concert type crowd.

But i am happy that i dont have such a closed mind and define generalizations of everything in life that i dont even want to try new things. :)
You guys enjoy. I hate festivals…it's hard to be blown away by any band on a festival setting (exception: Arcade Fire during Download Festival '05).
Are you saying going to a music festival is a "new thing"?

i often find this fascinating?

because it seems to me, when bands get on a stage much larger than their normal stage, they would pull out all the stops to be extra special and win over lots of new fans.

I know when we used to do "rave parties" whenever we'd just a bunch of the best DJs together, all of their sets were amped up x3.

bands like Clap your Hands say yeah, new pornos, kasabian and drive by truckers have a lot to gain by playing these kind of shows, while bands like the Killers and Gnarls have a chance to prove they arent just some overhyped crap machine. (gnarls proved to me…they are!!!)

i guess, in theory, thats how it should work anyway.
Sure they have a lot to gain, which is good.
It's just hard to enjoy any band (in general) on a big setting…the heat, the walk (between stages), the sound, the lack of intimacy…that sort of thing.

i am saying that THIS ONE is. I have been to many and they arent all the same. different people, different bands, different atmospheres altogether.

so really, it has nothing to do with the band sounding good or not.
Have you been to a Buddhist temple and shared birthday cake with one of the monks? Now that is a "new thing".

you're going to Rehobeth beach, butthead.
If the festival sound system is shitty, how can a band sound good?
