I heard the pogues are touring again. Are they coming back to the 930?
Pogues
So far, they are talking about Chicago, New York, Philidelphia and Boston. Tomorrow they should be giving more details.

plenty of gaps to fit in a DC show or two on this schedule - I thought they were great last march

* March 10 - Avalon / Boston, MA
* March 11 - Orpheum / Boston, MA
* March 16 - Electric Factory / Philadelphia, PA
* March 17 - Roseland Ballroom / New York, NY

they were good when i saw them in vegas in october.

No, I think the gaps are to make room for additional nights in the cities they selected. Best bet is to buy tickets on Saturday for the venues listed above. They go on sale then and they will sell out in less than an hour. All of them.
I'm at SxSW when they're in NYC. Oh well, loved the 9:30 show, maybe the excitement of the first time seeing them in so long can't be repeated anyhow.
I doubt very much all the Pogues shows will sell out in under an hour. Maybe St. Paddy's Day, but I don't think the other shows will be as hot as last year when Shane was back in tow for the first time in a while!
Shane has been "in tow" for every Pogues show since 2000… probably 25-30 shows by now.
March 14 added - Roseland Ballroom NYC
2006 was the first time Shane MacGowan played with the Pogues in the US in over 15 years!
Don't get me wrong, I love the Pogues, but obviously Shane was the main reason their tour was so successful last year. Now that we've all seen Shane back with the boys, I don't think it will be as hot a ticket this year, except for Paddy's Day where they will sell out in under an hour no matter where they play.

I think it'll still be a hot ticket. Didn't they only play something like 5 cities last time? Not exactly an extensive tour. An awful lot of people got shutout. It may not be as crazy as last time, but the tickets are still going to go pretty quick.
They probably played about 20 different cities in the US last year. They ended coming back and playing out west later in the year.
Ah - I didn't notice that.
They played Boston, NYC, Atlantic City, DC, LA, SF, and Las Vegas last year. That's it.
Doing multiple shows at a number of those locations.
You're right, it probably won't be as crazy as last March, but I'd say close. The 930 Club was packed last year; looked to me to be well over official capacity. I'm going for NY and Philly this year. Possibly Boston. ….where streams of whiskey are flowing.
Got a bunch for the Avalon show which will serve as my friend's bachelor party. Fitting, since he's getting married on St. Paddy's Day…
I wish they're playing the Wiltern. The Avalon (formerly the Palace) is not a good place to see a band :/

now he's not so sure: presale started today, and apparently the st paddy's tickets disappeared in a few seconds. i've just checked out the presale, looks like philly and the avalon shows' presales are sold out too. dunno how many tickets were allocated to the presales.

seth, are you reading this? if so, can we please put an end to the suspense and announce the DC show?!? pretty please? there will be a DC show, right?
