Quality board fodder though, to be fair.
true, the overlap between online discussion and decent humanity tends to be pretty thin…

Yes they're.
so seattle's new nhl franchise has been named: How Seattle's NHL team became the Kraken

inevitably, the fans will be known as krak-heads, their new arena will be called the krak-house, etc…

I love it and they are already my second favorite team.
their look has gotten a surprising amount of love online… folks are down with the branding.

my boss is a huge hockey fan and has season tickets.  he's really upset they didn't call themselves the Metropolitans, so they could claim a Stanley Cup (1917).  i agree with the decision to go with something more, uh, modern and marketable.

I heard the NHL very strongly asked them not to pick that because they did not want to rename a division.

I think the dark sweaters are absolutely incredible looking and this branding is out of the park. I love it.
Sweets, you alive?
currently peeling myself off the ceiling.  BRB.
Thoughts and prayers to Sweetcell’s family who are dealing with this.
for some reason my head hurts this morning.

the icing on the cake is that yesterday was St Jean Baptiste day, AKA the quebec national holiday, so people were already out and about partying, BBQ'ing and drinking.  imagine the Caps getting into the finals on july 4th… big party just became bigger.  montreal must have been LIT last night.

edit: it was - a mailbox was knocked over!!! (2:04 of the video)
