Cinerama...anyone going tonight?

I am on the fence. How were they last October?
Sorry, I posted another topic just now, at the same time you were posting yours…..

They were great last year. I couldnt recommend it more highly. Sometimes they play there tender songs a little too loud, but what do you expect from Gedge?

have you heard any Cinerama or Wedding Present songs?
I'm going! I missed them last Oct. and have been eager to see them.
i too, missed them in october so i will be there. i'm thinking the first of the two opening bands will start at 9? or should i be there earlier?
Yep

blackcat seems to open doors to upstairs at 8.30, in reality, about 8.45 and then if its two support bands, the first starts at around 9.

I havent looked into the suppost bands at all though. Anyone know about them?
Actually my brother burned me a copy of Cinerama and I have simply not given it enough listening time. I do like it though. I'll probably go.

Which one? If you tell me I will let you know the best track and what they are most likely to play tonight…..

hopefully you have Torino or Holiday?
Actually the one I have is This Is Cinerama. I just noticed that it was a compilation of import singles. Now I am curious to see what the rest of their songs sound like.
I'll be there tonight. Very excited, as this will be my first Cinerama show. I actually saw Parker and Lily on the backstage a little while ago. They headlined on a bill that also included the much more popular Matt Pond PA. By the time their set began, I was one of 8 people in the audience, and that included all 5 members of Matt Pond. Anyway, I was totally enthralled by their performance. Be warned that they do seem a bit out of place on the bill, as they're probably the oddest band I've ever heard. They play sort of synth-based dream pop, with two women on keyboards and half a drum kit each, and a grumpy, dishevelled man who sometimes sings and sometimes plays heavily distorted guitar. Worth seeing.

Kerry Kerry is still played, they played it last time at least…. I dont think they played anything else off of that album though.

There albums have got better over time.
thanks for the parker lily info Walkman….

sounds bad to me.
Alright Markie, err, Andrew, Smackette and I will go if they're your FAVORITE band.

I'm assuming that because they're your favorite band it's no where near selling out?
Last time it was not remotely close to selling out.

It would be cool to hang before the show….. Want to go for food? Pollys?

Honestly, I can't imagine that you'd enjoy 'em, from what I know of your tastes. They're only on the tour because they're label-mates of Cinerama, not because they sound anything like David Gedge.

Unlike you, that's doable. I'll be at a previous engagement at the Reef from 7-8, then I'll be walking over there so I can stop at Polly's if you're going to be there. What's your timeframe?
oh, no, they are so NOT worth seeing. i had forgotten that i was at that show too. i gave them 20 minutes and i left. i really tried to get into them but i thought they were awful. it seemed like a porn star wannabe and his two babes that were stuck in early 80's ny trying to get a gig at cbgb's and were too damn out there to be even be credible.

but, of course, that's just my opinion. :D

…and what's so wrong about being stuck in the 80's?

No seriously, Lily, stop sugarcoating it and tell us what you really think….
I dunno

"* "My Apartment Complex" is the theme song for a new sitcom on Spanish national television, "La vida de Rita" (Rita's life)! "

Could be fun… I do like synth pop, remember I am 80's boy. Can I just pretend they are postal service?
