Marr and the healers

could it be any worse than John Squire and the Seahorses? although i missed seeing them live. Squire replaced Marr as my guitar hero.

I quite like it, sure its not very innovative, but it does have a handful of good songs.
Plus the guy could sing……
I am just a bit nervous, I mean if it was such a good idea to front a band why not do it 17 years ago whilst he was in his 20's, not just about to hit 40?
i thought black cat didn't open, even the red room, until 8.30pm?
i'll be there tonight, more out of curiosity than anything though at this point i have so much work to do, i'm half pondering getting rid of my ticket. *MUST NOT GIVE INTO EVIL WORK MONSTER*

quote:
Originally posted by lily1:
bunnyman and i will be there around 9. is there an opener?

apparently so:
"AMG REVIEW: Working alone in his bedroom on low-rent gear, Jonathan Bates found his sound on two preliminary EPs before creating A Demonstration of Intellectual Property. These six songs cover more ground than many other artists manage on a full CD, beginning with a disarming, lullaby-like instrumental, "Tinylittle." The songs that follow roll by like a storm front of massed guitar dissonances, ominous electronic noises, and voices that float above the turbulence, all the more painful because of their detachment. None of this comes at the expense of tunefulness: A highly developed structure illuminates these shadows, visible in the brilliantly dissonant hook and clustered chords of "No More Options" and in the elegant detailing of the drum track on "Beautiful Day." Fatalism and humor guide the lyrics, with some especially pungent irony on the dirge "And Repeat," but on "Bitelip" these qualities intensify into a self-referential kaddish that builds from mumbling monologue to wordless, harmonized moans over an apocalyptic backbeat. In little more than a quarter of an hour, Mellowdrone's music leaves the listener breathless and alert, as if in fear of sinking back into sleep, yet tempted as well by dreams of beauty and terror"
thanks markie. i guess 9 is early enough that we won't miss anything.

I presume not all Americans like Creed and Sugar Ray, even though I know you do prince charles hair boy.
Q: Who came first? The Dickhead who supposedly tastes like chicken or the Egghead?
More importantly, do I really want to know!?

The average music fan associates Morrissey with The Smiths not Johnny Marr.
Go listen to Erasure.

But those are bands you find about in music press.
If you read about music would it be that impossible to read about the smiths, the most loved indie band of the 80's?
Oh l'amour whats a boy in love supposed to do
broke my heart and now its aching for you

I thought you really hip and trendy 930 bored types would be waaaaay to cool to go see an artist from the 80's, isn't Andrew WanKer in town again this week?
And just so many of you aren't disapointed this evening….it's Johny MARR not John MAYER tonight.
