Sex Pistols=one great, important record. But definitely not hall of fame material.

In the grand scheme of music, I think the importance of "punk" is way overrated anyway.

well, i guess this is more in line. . explain how rick ferrell got into the hall? no one would dare say that he was a great player, but a relatively average one. however, he was good for a catcher. could you not say something similar about the pistols? why you may not like them, they were/are the proto-typical punk band of that era. while you go on pooh-poohing punk, it's still a genre (especially the 70s/early 80s bands) that is gonna have to be reckoned with by the rock and roll hall of fame. just because YOU don't like it, is an obvious logical fallacy.

i think you are arguing with no one really.

I am sure if we looked at all of the sports stats against who made thier respective halls of fame, we'd find a fwe people who were "gifted" in, and a few who were "left out". thats probably agreed, but do we need to do it here too?

is it the Hall Of Fame or a popularity contest?

cause I'd vote them into the latter.

besides, if a baseball player got hooked on smack and killed his wife….he wouldnt be in the hall of fame.
