The reason MD is higher than VA on the murder top 50 is MD has Baltimore and PG county and VA doesn't. Richmond….ooooooh bad ass city that is! :roll:

Seriously though, guns are for one purpose only…to kill stuff, so why the hell does anyone need to OWN one let alone carry one in public. If people like to shoot innocent unassuming wildlife (which should also be illegal but that's a whole other discussion) then they should be forced to keep their guns locked up at the "murder wildlife club" then sign them out before they go on their murder spree and then sign them back in when it's over.

People should be allowed to own guns. If not, only the cops and military would be allowed to own guns…and that's like giving all the guns to the most stupid and dangerous types of people.

We should allow citizens to own guns to potentially protect themselves from evil tyrants who wun the government.

And how do we assess that someone is a responsible citizen? Just because he doesn't have any criminal record? Can't see any valid criteria. I am not from here and no longer live in the US, but I think no one should be allowed to own guns.

All valid points here…..and I think coming up with this criteria is really the issue. In my perfect world no one own gun either but that's just not realistic for this country. Better control is the really the best we can hope for.

Let me clue you in, it's not the British or Indians I'm worried about.

You'd be a fool to give up any of your rights because who knows what the future holds. Unless you've got a crystal ball you're not telling us about.

Shortcomings? I probably haven't fired a gun in over a decade, but that doesn't mean I don't believe we should give up those rights.

It's technically a privilege….if it's a 'right' then why is a convicted felon not allowed to own one, wonder why? :roll: I know they can't vote either, but that's just nonesense imho.
