i think the nighties are taking a hiatus or something after this show, so it could be the last time to see them. its also the first time john bustine's played in a while so get there early to catch him.
The Nighties
I hope you all don't forget that those lovable Nighties are playing Saturday, July 12th at the Velvet Lounge.
how could we forget? <img src="http://zerochance.net/streetlogo.gif" alt=" - " />
Hey that's a good one Markie, I'll use that on your Fall topic.
i dont actually know members of the fall. Therefore I am much les emotionally attached to them than you are your nightie.
I thought the fall would be an interesting show, and possibly quite awful. Turned out to be fantastic.

Amazing how some degenerates can pull it off and appear so "cool". If the rest of us would try something like that, we would be laughed at and booed so far out of town that we'd need to pay departure taxes. I mean, the guy couldn't even carry a tune for a half a second if his life depended on it. And don't tell me it's for the lyrics. I don't think even Mankie could have understood what the Hell he was mumbling about.
Okay, who all is going to see The Nighties? There's a chance I may be in town with some friends and looking for something to do. I don't like Power Pop at all but it may be a fun night. Would rather see The Buzzcocks in Baltimore but might involve too much driving. Who knows what will happen.

Great set last night. Did anyone stick around after The Nighties to see the acoustic set by the guy from Woolly Mammoth?
I didn't stick around after the Nighties – a day in the sun, and rain, drinking beer was too much. Oh yeah, and being yelled at by the bartender at Velvet Lounge.
Really enjoyed the Nighties. Met the lead guitarist, Chris, at the bar and mentioned that they had good buzz on the 9:30 club forum, which got me to the show.
I started talking to him because I was curious if the swarm of people at the bar around 11:00 were there for the Nighties, for another band, or just for Velvet Lounge. And he's the guy I decided to ask, "what brought you here tonight." He was a bit sheepish because he had to respond that he's in *two* of the bands playing that night. Too funny.
I will definitely be a Nighties regular. Was a lot of fun, lot of energy, good stuff.
Saw Paul, the singer, at the New Pornographers show last night. I think the Nighties show was better (though Neko Case rules).
