We need a TV thread dont we?

Why haven't we had a LOST thread, strictly for LOST?

Did we have to wait until Season 5 was over or WHAT?!
I wonder when NBC turns into Nothing But Crap seeing as how I expect things to really go down hill when Leno tanks in Prime Time.  Worst programming decision ever…. I'm guessin' it wont take long before their lineup is Leno + annoying reality TV shit.  Besides canceling Earl and keeping that craptastic Parks and Rec show is beyond me…

It's little wonder the best TV is on cable these days with Breaking Bad and Rescue Me.
Diggin' this quote from Ethan Supple's twitter

Why I love Greg Garcia(MNIE creator): when asked how he feels about nbc "It?s hard to be too upset about being thrown off the Titanic."
Lost
30 Rock
Antiques Roadshow
True Blood
Mad Men
In Treatment
Big Love

I'm a big fan of most of the stuff on HBO. I tried to watch Breaking Bad, but it was a little too intense and I was unable to go to sleep…

We do need a Lost thread…
And how could I forget the dead brilliant "The IT Crowd" on IFC.  I can see why the internet was a buzz when it first aired in the UK.

Don't know if anyone around here watched "Green Wing" when it was on BBCAmerica or not, but Kosmette got one of the "special" DVD players and order the series DVD from the UK, and oh my was it far more racey when it was aired in the UK.

Also, have been enjoying the recent Masterpiece theater adaptations of Dickens and Castle on ABC.
I think another thread re: Netflix or a TV season lead into a LOST discussion when the series started…(I haven't watched the finale episode this season so no spoilers please or announce them as such. :))

-Oh, "House" season 4 - the last two episodes were stellar.

-How could I forget: "The Office". The Michael Scott Paper company episodes were hilarious.

-I think I will miss "The Riches" and "Pushing Daisies" most of all.

-My mom met Tom Fontana and Barry Levinson at some arts event and Tom said he has a new series out this fall…
Monday: The Hills/The City, Gossip Girl, How I Met Your Mother, 24
Tuesday: American Idol
Wednesday: Friday Night Lights (DirecTV), American Idol, So You Think You Can Dance
Thursday: Grey's Anatomy (Smackette Only)
Saturday: SNL
Sunday: 60 Minutes, The Tudors

Monday-Thursday: The Daily Show
Netflix: MI5, Big Love

That's easily half what my watching used to be.

Gossip Girl

EW is on Twitter and said no go on GG spinoff.
You or Julian would know - isn't there a Melrose Place redux?
Clearly I watch to much TV…  But Leverage on TNT with Timothy Hutton is a very good con job caper show like early seasons of the UK's Hustle.  Some great characters in that series, plus it has the actress who played Jane on Coupling.

MI-5 is an excellent example of why the BBC's decision to order less episodes for a season verses US network TV is a good thing.  Which why HBO, TNT, AMC, Fx are all doing great things with their series and shorter runs.

And who could forget Torchwood or Doctor Who!  Will be very interesting to see what Doctor Who is like with a new Doctor.
I work nights so I dvr Dexter, 24, Chuck, House and Colbert. Daily Show instead of news. Letterman and SNL. And I record a lot of movies on HDNet Movies, a ridiculously great film channel. Now with the season over, I can catch up on movies.

I inadvertently left Chuck off my list.

Gossip Girl spinoff is not officially dead yet, but it's not looking good.

Melrose Place redux is a go on the CW.

I do this a lot as well.  My new HD-DVR has 100 hours of recording so I sit on HD movies for a while, and I record a ton when we have free preview weekends.  Right now, I've probably got 12-15 movies recorded that were in my queue.

Yes, good show! My mom even watches it b/c she likes Timothy Hutton. She said she also like the character played by blonde actress. (she was pretty funny in the first few episodes)
In the summer I catch up on all the shows you all tell me about that I can't otherwise fit into my schedule or receive on my tele.
Oh and don't worry about watching too much. It's what staying up late, insomnia, winding down after a show and no commericals/recorded TV is for!

Daayaam, 100 hours of HD? My Fios-supplied dvr records about 20, a little less if I have an SD thing or two. I recently recorded the Godfather trilogy on HDNet, which takes a huge chuck of space. Only watched the first so far but I've got a five day weekend ahead  ;D

Here's what HDNet Movies is showing over the next 30 days. And it's just a single channel.
monday: 24, heroes (god knows why i still watch it), the hills/city
wednesday: LOST
thursday: office, 30 rock, hell's kitchen
sunday: amazing race, whatever hbo/showtime show strikes my fancy

i dvr silly reality shows to fill in the blanks. i too used to watch tons more shows, though

you can blame all those chuck fans….ha ha ha

"During a conference call with reporters today, Ben Silverman, co-chairman of NBC Entertainment and Universal Media Studios, said the network opted to cancel "Earl" and "Medium" because neither the fans nor the advertisers had waged a campaign to save them the way viewers and the Subway restaurant chain did for "Chuck."
