Wow, expensive tickets for a lineup that seems lacking to me. I'm bummed because I'd like to see Merriweather kick ass and take no prisoners all summer.
Though it's no better than the Cook-off in my estimation, at least the cookoff is only $30.

PS the Chili Cookoff lineup is TERRIBLE. At least HFStival has, like, three redeeming bands…
Actually, I'd love to go and see Ok Go, The Strokes, and Joan Jett. But I'd rather not pay that much to see any of these bands, when I can just see OK Go at the Black Cat, or wait and see Joan at Warped Tour. The Strokes I'm impartial about, don't want to see 'em really anywhere other than a club (if that ever happens). So I'd just rather not fuss with drunk, horny frat guys.

Just drive the extra hour to philly and go to jam on the river instead. $30 for secret machines and Ween beats $100 for counting crows and a bunch of other bands that will be forgotten in a matter of months.

Is Joan definitely playing the Warped tour here? Pollstar doesn't show her playing any Warped dates, although I've seen press stating she'll be there. I know there are other bands on that tour only playing "selected dates" (like The Germs and The Buzzcocks). I'm wondering if she's playing everywhere.

Agreed. Warped tour usually is good about letting people know who is playing what date, but they don't have any indicators on the site. I definitely want to see Joan Jett and The Buzzcocks, but if neither are playing here, it's probably not worth it for me. Again though, because Joan is from this area, I would assume that at least she would be playing the Maryland shows.

so i guess the secret machines are no longer refusing to play outdoors shows because it "compromises their ambience"

Joan Jett apparently is playing the entire tour, not select dates.

if that was a dig on the Secret Machines….go to hell!!!
they played coachella last year…allbeit in a tent, and they are playing Lollapalooza.
on a better note..i just found out i will not have to buy an HFStival ticket as i will be working at Merriweather this year :)
