That works, but the point was for the loser to at least think about the winners team, so a gift card is fine but the loser still needs to at least check the winners team stat sheet and score every week and make some positive comment.
930 Board Survival Football Pool

Right now, I *really* wish I could've convinced Seth to take my one-on-one restaurant gift certificate/VIP tickets side bet. If I had known it would've come down who won Detroit/Oakland, I would've offered $200 straight up in a one-on-one bet.
Oh well, at least I have a 9:30 gift card and weekly Lions report coming.

That was quick for me. Stupid Jacksonville. At least I was smart enough to stop at the $5 level.

Originally posted by Julian, good manners AFICIONADO:Ditto. I was worried about how Romo would bounce back after last season's ending, and I definitely wasn't sure about the new RB situation in New York, so I stayed away from that game.
I felt Dallas was kind of a sketchy pick too.
My usual rule for week one is the biggest favorite at home, but when I looked at the line and saw Jacksonville giving 6.5 points, I just couldn't see that game being safe. I do feel a little badly for those that picked that game and lost as it was supposed to be the safe pick. I opted for picking Seattle while Alexander was still healthy.

I felt Dallas was kind of a sketchy pick too.Dallas is good on both sides. Giants appear/ed to be in disarray. Giants have (at the least) seriously sketchy secondary and running game. Kudos to Eli for playing a great game and shutting Tiki the eff up.
I heart Marion Barber.

Key word is survive. Doesn't matter whether it is by the skin of our teeth or not…although I thought I was history as I followed the ticker.

I realize that Terrence Newman was out, but is he really that much of a difference maker? Regardless, you can't say that Dallas was good on both sides of the ball.

All that really matters is that the Cookie Monsters are coming to take everyone's money…plus a sweet pair of VIP tickets!
You guys might as well just give up now.

[/QB]That may be true - they got torched. I bought into the idea that Wade could, if nothing else, improve the D, that Hamlin would help balance R. Williams lack of coverage skills at safety, and that they'd have a great pass rush. Also didn't realize the extent of their injuries. Especially if injuries persist, they could be a lot like last year's Skins where performance was much worse than the talent they have on paper.
