they use to do 5 years all the time and it was fantastic. The show was amazing.

But, did anyone notice that there were THREE cars with smashed in windows on that street that runs next to the club with all the meters and the warehouse looking thing? Granted, I guess we could trade in a drink for safe parking, but I imagine that this is no an unusual thing to happen. I had a window smashed in at Nation once, but never at 930 club. How often does this happen and shouldn't something (i don't know what…) be done to minimize things like this this?
I assume you are talking about 8th st? V st is the street you enter/exit the club from. 8th is about a block away, to the left as you leave the club. Thanks in advance for a clarification.

I wonder if the cost to replace their window is less than the $7 ($9 via tickets.scam) to park in the club lot?

That's a lesson I learned the hard way. Even with all the shows I go to, I could easily park in the club's lot every time for the amount of money it cost me to replace my window.
yes, i am talking about 8th street u believe. What is Bollacks so bitter about? time to do some work.
That was a kick ass show last night! I've seen TPS 6 times now and they are always great live. It looked like a lot of people had never seen the spree before last night. Though, the crowd really warmed up and gave an awesome response back to the band. :D

Does anyone know if the show sold out? It looked like it maybe did, but I was up front and couldn't tell. I know that they wanted to play two dates at 9:30, but the promoters didn't think they could sell out both. Hopefully next time, we'll get two shows just like Chicago, NYC, Philly, and Boston are getting on this tour. :D

Oh, and you might have seen me last night. I was the guy in the blue robe going absolutely gonzo. ;)

Have you had your window broken?!?! Y'all are havin' me panic.
Yeah - back in 2001. I'm sure it's because someone watched me put my coat in the trunk. Another lesson learned: Put everything out of sight BEFORE you get to the club.

Still, 20 years of going to the club (both old and new) and that's the only time anything has happened. I'm still pretty comfortable leaving my car outside, but I usually try to get in the lot for sold-out shows.

I'm not bitter, just being a little sarcastic because I think it's silly to park on the street and take a chance rather than pay the parking fee for peace of mind.

Oh God! please don't tell me the Spree fans (Spreebies??) wear robes to the shows.
The rumor is that 8th streets nickname is glass street
oh and yes I saw quite a few people wearing robes

heh… one time I was driving down 8th Street when I saw this dilapidated van in front of me driving erratically, and hit one of the parked cars, and then keep going. I tried to get closer to the van and read its license plate, at which point the van slammed on the brakes and a bunch of thugs jumped out and started running towards me. I jammed my car into reverse and got the phuq outta there as quickly as I could.
Oh, Tim did mention something about the show being recorded. I'm not sure if he was talking about an official band recording or just that there were tapers in the back.

Anyways, I did manage to get the e-mails of two of the tapers there. Neither of them seemed that interested in bit torrenting or trading or anything though. I'm gonna wait about a week or two and then see if I can get a copy. I'd love to get this show bit torrented and spread around to as many people as possible.
i went back to my car parked on 8th street, about twenty minutes before the show started, and there was this black guy dressed in a brown vest , brown pants and white shirt. he was walking on the sidewalk toward the club, and he was smoking a blunt; i could smell the pot as he passed, (he thought he was so styling and profiling) and he was far from my vehicle by the time I got there…, but by the time i got inside and had a sip of water and a bite to eat, there he was, right beside my vehicle; acting like he wanted something to go down. little piece of crap. thugs hate it when the chips are stacked against them, because some other people came walking by and he moved on up a bit. i got out of there and back to the club before p-funk could try anything. he was the one that probably got those windows, because the car right beside me got nailed. my advice is to do what i do: drive a piece of crap vehicle when you go to 9:30 club. you'll blend in perfectly with the surroundings and noone should mess with your ride. a removable face stereo helps too!

polyphonic were so on last night and such a blessed event, that i must take a break from shows for awhile. what's the point, after that spectacle of human bliss.
I saw Tripping Daisy once at the old Max's in Fells Pt. It was kind of blessed too.

Do I still need to see the Spree?

he might alo have just been some local dude trying to smoke a blunt in peace and wondering if the weird white guy who was staring at him and acting all funny was a narc.

yeah… because people like to randomly hang out on the utopia that is 8th street. What a beautiful view of the city you can get there! Abandoned warehouses with broken glass with open doorways (without doors) that you can just walk right into! Broken glass all over the sidewalks! It reminds me of STRONGBADIA… It's just like heaven!!!
darn those peaceful blunt smokers; walking around all shady in the wonderful sections of n.w., with spare tools in their pockets for knocking out back windows. someone once told me that people can disable car alarms with those crazy "stun" guns. i don't know if that's true, but that's why my vehicle alarm is a piece of crap car that says, "You sure got a pretty mouth," if you try to break in. and why would some thug think i'm a narc. narcs only hang around 9:30 when Ratdog or Moe are playing.
