Friday's Roll Call: Bicycle Thieves, Cedars, Nethers..

Cut me some slack…I HAD to do it :)

Anywho…we're chuffed to be playing as a 5-piece again since last October's show. Joining us will be Paul who some of you might remember as the guitarist in Phaser…the new material is sounding great, hope you lot like it..our slot is 10:30-11:15pm…see ya!

Will you be taking requests from the bands?? cos I could definitely use an Oasis tune at around 10:27 to get my Liam on..jojojojojo
a plain envelope stuff with bills usually does the trick…
I'm planning on going.
I'm showing my vintage, but wouldn't this have been perfect as Three Bands for Three Bucks? With the club absorbing the corresponding revenue loss, o' course, Fico.
What's the general buzz on the Nethers, anyway?
about 180 degrees different than the Carlsonics from whom they sprang… fade into the background indie pop
On a Friday night? hahahahahaha

That said, they do seem to have done better for themselves (proper touring, record, etc) than in their previous encarnation…
i will be there to support the lovely boys of bicycle thieves. oh how i love them :D
tentative
having seen both the carlsonics and nethers many times, i feel pretty confident in saying that nethers is the better band. carlsonics were fun but the shtick grew old after a few songs and it all sounded the same. nethers has more interesting shit going on.

as for proper record/touring, i have no idea what that's about. carlsonics released a record on a fairly well-known, national indie label and toured like motherfuckers.
I would LOVE to go, but I have to be at BWI at 7:00 a.m. the next morning. I doubt I'll make it, but I might sneak in for the first coupla bands…
Make sure you catch Nethers. I was at their CD release party and really like their new material. Nikki (sp?) has a great voice. They are one of my favorite local bands, and I definitely prefer them over a few others that have been named on this Forum. I've never seen Bicycle Thieves. Can't make the show.
Wow-

Very interested in seeing Cedars set- with a former member of Phaser in tow. Great addition, similar style to both bands. Great fit.

Looking forward to Nethers.

Are you being sarcastic? I haven't heard the album but saw their in-studio performance at kcrw and thought they were utter shite…

Sweet. A band brawl with the critics darlings would get you international notoriety….

Sarcastic.

Didn't you like Oasis? Then it is understandable, different musical concepts, as I understand it. Sin intentar echar mierda a tu banda ni nada, simplemente que creo que son dos estilos de musica distintos.
the CYHSY song I heard leads me to believe that I wouldn't like them… the vocalist makes me want to do bad things.
