Who remembers the Dream Syndicate

syndicate opened for rem at the warner-mid 80's-incredible show, second best opener to the minutemen at the mosque in richmond
Steve Wynn on the 17th. Relive the magic!!!

This show is going to be cool, I can feel it.
the dream syndicate were one of the best '80s bands, without a doubt. i still spin days of wine and roses frequently, as well as the medicine show. the live records are all good, and the later studio albums are decent, if not spectacular.

i saw steve wynn a bunch of times in the late '90s, the last time being in 2001 right before 9/11. one of my favorite bands, come, backed him on his 1996 album, melting in the dark, which was fantastic. his live shows are always fun, and he never fails to bust out a few dream syndicate songs.

sadly, i will be managing a show at the warehouse that night, so i'm going to have to skip out this time.
I listened to Wine and Roses several times this weekend to get more familiar with the stuff. I dig it. Like a steam shovel.
Sitting in a bar in Mobile, Alabama and what do I see but a signed Dream Syndicate poster over the bar. It's karma…KARMA!!!

Mobile doesn't really smell very good.
Hey, Pharm: Nice line-up and not an electrified saucepan or washboard in sight…!!!(unless you and Anthony are planning a special set). Of course, I remember one night when he "mic'ed" a clog dancer's feet…but I'm guessing that's not on the line-up either. See you and your beautiful merch girls tomorrow night at JJ.

It's like coming out day at the Hall of Justice.

Or ummm….not like that at all.

Anyway will be great to meet some of you there. We're really looking forward to the show.
Nothing wrong with a little electic jug, the 13th Floor Elevators made good use of one…
Madame Sushi is talking about our last show at Jammin Java with Marah. They had jugs and banjoes and pinstriped vests and a trumpet and a harmonica all sortsa junk. Good band though, really good performers and songwriters. I dug it.

so how was the show?
It was great, the place was packed and good times were had by all. I really dug the Echoes and Steve Wynn was a lot more rocking than expected. Very fun night indeed.
