Why do people like the Everything movie so much?

It was not my favorite film of the year (that would be Tár of the nominees and Close out of all films), but I thought it quite good. I will say it’s rise to winning all these awards seems organic and genuinely reflecting that subset of people who have real passion for it, unlike last year’s CODA campaign which was an abomination.
They got the best song right!
Naatu naatu!!!

I tried watching it, twice. Painfulx2.
John Travolta dyes his beard, right?

It’s like not liking hockey but respecting that Alexander Ovechkin is good at a thing you don’t like, if that makes sense.
How could they forget about
Lenny Kravitz apparently does not age.
All Quiet On The Western Front is the maddening film of this year for me. It’s going to wrack up all these technical awards (and fairly, it’s gorgeous and a technical marvel) despite being a plodding boring script poorly acted.
I had it fourth ahead of only Argentina 1985 (sorry Hutch) in my Best International Feature ballot. Close and EO were INCREDIBLE.
