We went to the baseball exhibit at the Natural History Museum. On display, they had a newspaper article from some time ago which proclaimed "So and so to be named first black manager."
Yet the person who wrote the caption at the museum wrote "This newspaper shows the announcement that 'so and so will be the first african-american manager'"

To my thinking, Black denotes a race.
African American denotes nationalities which is basically what you were saying Bollocks.
For the record, there are White African Americans. They are White people who were citizens of some African country who then became American citizens. All the more proof that the term African American isn't really the best of terms to use when specifying someone's race.

Let's be honest, Canada is really just a semi-autonomous region of the United States. If not for government-imposed Canadiana content in the media, Canadian culture wouldn't exist.
