People smoke, get over it. It's a free country (at least for now anyway). If you don't want to be around it, go see the shitty bands at the Ram's Head.

I'm rather torn about it
it imposes on the freedom of either side, no matter which you you go (smoking vs. non)

The owner(s) of the 930 club are obviously intelligent and decent business men/women judgeing by the length of time the place has been around and the talent that comes in.
Does anyone here truly believe that if the owners thought they could make more $$$$ if the club was non-smoking that they would not do it in a heartbeat?
I believe it should be up to the proprietor of a business to decide is smoking is allowed or not, its a private establishment and it should be the owners right to choose what makes the most business sense!
If you dont like it dont go.

in this case, it's not clear cut which way to go, for money or ethical reasons
some people like to enjoy smoking - I want to be a place where people have fun
some people hate smoking and don't want to be around it - those people deserve to enjoy themselves, too
like I said, I'm torn

I'm not a smoker but couldnt imagine going to a concert and not having it. As long as the person isn't intenionally blowing it in my face, I don't mind it. I go there knowing that I'm going to at least smell it….Not a big deal.

That said, 9:30 is one of my favorite venues….whether or not smoking is allowed isn't a top priority for me when it comes to choosing to attend a show.

I find it hilarious and sad that people 'enjoy' smoking.

i find it hilarious and sad that you can't fathom a smoker enjoying a cigarette.
