Melt Banana and Lou Reed?

So what gives? I thought I saw mention that Melt Banana was opening tonight for Lou Reed, but there's no mention of their set time. Are they not showing up or what?
I also heard that Smashing Pumnpkins are getting back together. is that true?
so lou goes on at 9 with no opener and plays 12 songs?

doesn't sound like much of a value…
I haven't seen a show in ages…can't wait for this one.
Yeah, this is my first Lou Reed concert, very excited
He is going to flex and show off, then sing some songs.
Chaz, thanks for hooking my friend up!

Here's the setlist:

Mad
Sweet Jane
I'm Set Free
Ecstasy
I'm Sticking With You
Power of the Heart (my favorite moment)
I Wanna Know
Halloween Parade
Video Violence
Guardian Angel (brilliant)
Magic and Loss
——————-
Perfect Day

Sadly, Pale Blue Eyes and Satellite of Love were on the list and didn't get played. Wonderful band though. A fantastic show.
the show was fine, but short, and unimpressive. I expected more out of my first ever Lou Reed show.
I really enjoyed the show. The setlist was not expected but still very enjoyable. The solos were great and Lou and his band seemed to be in a very good mood.

My favorite moment was by far ecstasy.

I'm am disapointed by the short set list however. 12 songs with no opener seemed really short. The audience was begging for more.

I'm supposed to go to the show in Richmond Thursday. I'm really really hoping for at least a few different songs.

Power of the Heart is a new song and I really really like it.

Awful show.
kinda sucked. i want my $10 back.
I could see the show sucking if you came expecting a greatest hits show. He played obscure stuff, and he did a darn good job at it.
did he look pretty buffed?

I don't know…I'm a long-time fan but the show last night seemed very short, and the setlist was snooze-inducing.

Oh, and I've always HATED "Perfect Day." Not on my wish list of encores.
How can a show be both fine and unimpressive?

It can be fine (as in not bad or awful) but still not impressive. So it wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. Better? ;)
Wow…I guess maybe my expectations were lower than everyone else's, but there were a few moments that made me feel like I was really in the presence of greatness. I'd rather watch Lou play what he wants to play than have him do a half-assed job of "Walk on the Wild Side" or "Rock'n'Roll" (and who was that douche that kept yelling for it?). I didn't expect Lou to play more than an hour and 15 minutes, maybe that's just because I had heard he doesn't play long shows. So in the end, I was pleasantly surprised that we at least got 3 Velvets songs and one solo "hit". "Power of the Heart" was still the one song that made the whole night worth it for me. I never heard it before, but I thought it was phenomenal.
uh where was melt banana?
