For awhile, this is going to look like an 'occupy the Lube' moment.  ;D

one thing people are suspicious of: last year, they waited until most shows were already on sale (i.e. most tickets already sold during initial rush) before announcing the no-tailgaiting policy.  let's hope they're not stupid enough to pull that move again.

oh they are, are they? You been taking the "pulse" since this change was announced a few hours ago?! what else are "people" saying?

the change was announced early yesterday (wednesday), so it's had 36 hours to generate a public response (hint: just because it's news to you doesn't mean it's new).  multiple blogs and a least one facebook group (that i'm aware of) have been covering this and lots of comments have been made.  but way to "come across" as "ignorant" and a "dick".

definitely agree with you that as soon as an attendee wraps him/herself around a tree, the ban will be back.

yeah i guess there's lots of idiots out there.. the idea that they are going to announce this change, sell tickets and then change the policy again is laughable.

though "jiffy lube live" is a horrible name for a place to see a concert . . . is it any worse than:

1-800-ASK-GARY amphitheatre  - tampa

sleep country amphitheater  -  portland

quicken loans arena  -  cleveland

taco bell arena -  boise

superpages.com center - dallas

dunkin donuts center  - providence

as a fan of the UK Wildcats who play at the infinitely better-named Rupp Arena, the missus takes endless joy in pointing out the tackiness of her in-state rivals.

Yeah, naming arenas after avowed racists is always fresh.
The Dunkin Donuts Center is fine!

I am a huge Providence basketball fan and we call it The Dunk.  What's better than that?
We also have Farm Bureau Live down here in Va Beach.
Black Sabbath is the only group that could make me go back to the Lube.
Just got an email announcing their summer season but what I found interesting were some changes like no more plastic straws, recycling stations, water bottle filling stations, the reserved lawn seats and even some new food options like questlove impossible meat sandwich

They are obviously trying to up their game a bit
I'm going to go out on a limb and say most people heading to the lube will not be interested in the vegan burger.
I think the idea is to try to appeal to people who have written the place off….
Not sure if the vegan diet options will get people to drive an hour out of the city to see Journey.
Non plastic straw?
Top Chef’s Art Smith brings Art Bird Buttermilk chicken!

I think your point might be better made that the people who are willing to drive an hour away to see Journey do not overlap significantly with people who would purchase the Impossible burger (which is tasty and highly Julian-recommended).
