Of course. They know the area better. DC is a very confusing place to get around in, especially while driving. The locals are use to it and know the area and traffic patterns much better. Of course they will tend to be better drivers while in their own neighborhoods. Take them out of their usual environments and they'll probably seem like yahoos compared to that other area's drivers.

Agree and disagree.  I live in the MD burbs and have great access to both DC and Baltimore.  There is no equivalent in NOVA.

for all intents and purposes, JLL isn't a local venue for me.  it might as well be in west virginia, or north carolina.

I disagree - 99% driving in downtown DC ("golden triangle" area) on a weekday don't live there, they're commuting - DC/MD/VA drivers are all on the same footing, DCists just do it better

African American: 10.4%
American Indian: .3%
Asian American: 18.8%
Hispanic: 18.1%
Multiracial: 5.9%
White: 45.3%


I'll bet NWDC is alot whiter than that.

N=1 is not a representative sample.  i'm sure i could find one school in NWDC that would make your school look like pure vanilla.

Not even close.  I'm pretty sure Wilson is NW (and DC's) whitest public high school. 

African American: 51%
Asian American: 9%
Hispanic: 16%
White: 25%

But what does it matter.  The lillywhite areas in NW you speak of, around AU, Cathedral,  all the way to Georgetown, those folks send their kids to fancy private schools anyway.  So it's hard to get an accurate picture of NW DC base on school enrollment.
